    Hello!

    This laptop powers on but doesn't have picture. It has an ati vga which I've changed with a new one but the problem still exists. I am wondering if anyone has any bios dump for this one please or any other suggestions?

    manufacturer p/n DA0QT8MB6F0 rev f. hp part number : 482324-001

    Thanks in advance.

      Thanks for your reply. If it is the small chipset then I have already done that. Do you think that it is worth to be changed?

        here are the two bios-es that are from hp website
        i believe one is for board with dedicated gpu and other for onboard but i don't know which one. try each if u can
        also i have found the cpu to have gone bad on this model ,also give a good alchool clean on ram and socket
        but is more likely the rs780 chipset to be faulty.
        good luck.

          Thanks for the files sorinac. Well found out that the correct bios file is 30F2F38. Nothing changed after flashing the chip. I have seen that the scroll lock led is blinking 4 times. Been searching for self diagnosis but no result. Any ideas ?

            4 time = vga

            1 time = cpu
            2 time = bios damaged
            3time = ram
            4 = vga
            5= system board
            6= bad bios signature

              Thanks for the info. The odd thing is that I have already changed the vga chipset with a new one..
              I am thinking of giving the laptop back. I really don't like those hps..

                  I think your model has two ATI chips .
                  I guess if you change one that maybe you change wrong one !

                      If you don't get the HDD led blinking (system attempting to boot), it's the NB (small chipset) at fault. Don't need to replace, reballing will do.

                        Hello,

                        Today I received the chipset and after the change it doesn't blink 4 times but just 1.
                        @dellxps are you sure that one blink is cpu fault? I have checked with other cpu but still the same..

                          1 blink as in blinking continuously, or as in 1 blink and that's it? Reflash BIOS and see what it does.

                              i think 4 blink = vga, while 1 blink is chipset, so maybe a chipset reballing has gone bad?

                              hard to say to that point....lets wait for other suggestion.

                                check if you have 0.9v on cpu and if the cpu is getting hot

                                      Hi, I'm unexperienced with troubleshooting and I'm not sure how to proceed with this laptop.
                                      Motherboard is A5WAH LA-B991P I think, i5-5200U and nvidia 820m.

                                      When I received the laptop, CMOS battery had 0V. I took it out and all the testing has been done without a CMOS battery and without the main battery plugged in, I haven't been able to see physical damage, burnt or missing components with a quick visual inspection, and no shorts were found.
                                      Laptop charges the battery, powers on when ON button is pressed when powered from charger and when powered from the battery, but...

                                      Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

                                      The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                                      Original T-con:
                                      Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                                      First replacement T-con:

                                      I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

                                      This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                                      Problem
                                      TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

                                      Hello everyone.

                                      I have this TV set which has this issue. It shows a vertical bar im the middle of the screen.
                                      The panel has 12 cofs and the problem seems to be on the territory of the first cof on the right side.
                                      The tv fires up and you can see a good picture exept that vertical part where multicoloured pixels exist.
                                      The strange thing there is that you can see behind that snow that it shows picture but as if there are these pixels in front so you cannot see clearly.

                                      The effect is there even on a completely black screen.

                                      The screen...
