This Lenovo laptop is like new, used once and then was not used for three years. Laptop is working fine but the battery is not charging. When i measure with multimeter while charger plugged in, the voltage on battery connector jumps to 15 vol to 0,8 vol, then again 15 vol to 0,8 and so on. Left it over night but same thing. When battery removed it shows 0.00 vol on battery. I was thinking to use lab power supply to try to revive it but i must say that i have a little experience with fixing batteries and that i never tried to charge this long dead battery that shows 0.00 vol. I thought i once read that if lion battery goes below some voltage that it is not even safe to force charge it with power supply. Any advice how to proceed or its just better to buy a new battery?

You will have to buy a new battery. It is too risky to hot wire other ideas to resurrect this deeply discharged battery. With regret we have had the same issue with some of the spare batteries we purchased for our hand screwdrivers from Milwaukee tools. Batteries just need to be kept charged up over time. Beyond the chemistry change of the cells, the BMS board in this battery pack has probably locked you out already to further prevent any harm to the user. Summary, one wrong move and you will have a fire hazard or worse.

by sam_sam_samI have had with regular AA batteries that leak this meter is expensive new I already replaced the battery battery clips once and the same thing happened again and I am tried of so it is getting modified to accommodate lithium ion batteries that are the same size excluding the positive terminal and removing the battery clips I will have enough room for the BMS protection board
I going to put 3 lithium ion battery in parallel with the BMS protection board and a way to charge the battery externally and heat shrink the battery pack and use a JST connector so I easily remove the battery... -
by blazie151My buddy's fiancé was told to just keep her equipment after switching jobs, which included 2 nice Dell monitors and an i7 NUC (NUC11PAH aka RNUC11PAHi70Z00) with a bios lock. Seeing that there was a CMOS battery cable, I unplugged it, waited a few minutes, then plugged it back in. After that, I got a green stand-by light, and the power button did nothing. So, I tried hooking up to the bios with a CH341A (black version with 3.3v mod) and could not read it at all. In every program except IMSProg, it showed chip not detected, and in IMSProg, it showed up as a completely wrong chip (which happens...

by flat-eartherI have a cheap action camera with an annoying trait, every time I change batteries the date & time gets reset and I have to set it again.
To solve this problem I want to add a small internal battery inside it which will keep supplying power to the camera for a while while I change batteries so the date & time is retained.
I have opened the camera and I think there is enough room to add something inside to accomplish this:
The camera is powered by a 3.7V nominal single cell lithium ion battery.
So I need to connect another battery in... -
by fixxxarHi badcaps community, Im very begginer guy which transitioning from IT into Tech industry due to finding it more logical in long-term.
Recently had my laptop broken.
Left 220v cord disconnected from power supply for 1hour and cameback - laptop was gone.
Drained bios, laptop started and then shutdown instantly. (battery showed 0%)
It did not turned on again. Checked one last time with unscrewed battery (wanted initially just replace the battery as it had only 50% capacity left.
That was my quick "diagnosing". And it slipped from my hands while... -
by huzoHi, so the old battery was getting error stated it's capacity is starting too get low and should be replaced, so the customer bought a new one and replaced it, but the new battery was also getting this notice that it's capacity is getting low and should be replaced, so i took the laptop for testing and the battery is charging at the terminal at 8.03V , the voltage of the battery is 7.7V, and drawing around 600mA when charger is put and the laptop is off...so that should be ok... but the bios system test doesn't recognize the battery and can't do the battery test and so is the hp battery manager,...
