Lenovo Z50-70 NM-A273 BIOS SPI not supported

    Hi guys,
    Anybody came accross this one?
I put in a new BIOS file, old one was corrupted (don't have the original)

Tried first with Z50-70 bios but i couldn't update to latest BIOS via upgrade utility, the tried for Z40-70, i manage to upgrade to latest but this warning message is always there (except for the first boot)

    Anybody have any ideas?

Did you use the original bios from the motherboard or purchased an equivalent? Not sure but sounds to me like the motherboard is extracting the embedded IDs from the flash device and comparing the values to a look up table (database) of supported flash chips. Respectively, this message is a flag that the IDS from the installed flash device do not match the supported list of devices.

Open your bios with UEFITool -> click the Desriptor region -> flash ROM ID's are shown at "Flash chips in VSCC table:"

        For example:
        Flash chips in VSCC table:
        EF6017h
        EF4018h
        C22018h
        EF6018h
        C84017h
        • EF6017h = Winbond W25Q64FW - 1.8V
        • EF4018h = Winbond W25Q128FV / W25Q128BV
        • C22018h = Macronix MX25L12805/12835/12845
        • EF6018h = Winbond W25Q128 - 1.8v
        • C84017h = GigaDevice GD25Q64 / GD25Q64B

Its seems like a bios issue. Why not download bios update from lenovo website by putting your serial number and then extracting the bios. Then flash it with an spi programmer. If you dont know how to do this, post a request in bios subforum. Bios for Z40-70 and Z50-70 may be slightly different.
