It's F2. Unplug the battery first

this model is using win8 but there seems to be a lot of post online for the bios issue, people said this is because secure boot has been enabled so the only way to access the bios is to change from secure boot to legacy. any ideas??

removing the HDD will help it, try.

                    Re: Acer Aspire V5

you need to change in bios from UEFI to that other option.
if you insert the hdd and boot with a live cd can you see the hdd?
Just cook it! It's already broken.

Is this some sort of game where we have to try and get information from you.
You need to tell us all of the problem and what you have tried already.

                        Re: Acer Aspire V5

I managed to change from UEFI bios to LEGACY by booting with windows 8 cd. After installation I upgraded the bios to the latest version and I can now access bios by pressing F2 whether in UEFI or LEGACY........
