    Laptops with 'i' Processors Issue

Lately we are receiving i3 - i5 laptops for repair due to dead or no display. So far, on 5 or more laptops, I have reflashed bios changed CPU and reflow GPU. But no sign of a fix.

This makes me think that all these new laptops with the issues above are likely to caused by a bad gpu. I have yet to replace any chips but I have few chips on order.

    what models?
like dead squad or just dead power and no display.
Just cook it! It's already broken.

Re: Laptops with 'i' Processors Issue

Got one in: Dell N5010. Reg Model: P10F001.

This one has power but no display.

History: Came in with 7 beeps. Dell and all over said its a bad CPU. Changed CPU and no more beeps, instead the fan slowly starts to spin fast. Using the previous cpu result in the same fan issue.

Funny how no heatsinks are on the gpu with these i processor laptops. Anyone noticed?

So where are these video chips on the board? Are you saying one is on the CPU?

i series has a gpu unit. no more north or south bridges, hm series hubs are new trend , like amd i series also connected to ram itself not by a bridge.

Nice. Didn't really payed attention to RAM controller inside CPU.

On topic, i don't remember i had a laptop with that error. Maybe it will come around soon...

Make sure you do not miss to reflash KBC controller's BIOS chip, they cause similiar problems too.

Oh yes Anything that says Winbond, or the like, gets reflashing. I get tired or reflashing two ICs and nothing works.

usualy the ezp programer can detect auto the chip.
you can copy the code and search for datasheet and see its the right chip.
always backup the original just in case.

i am pretty sure the chipset is damaged you have to replace the chip. i get this type of laptops a lot, sometimes reflow helps, sometimes bios programming. if not, check if supply voltage to the video card is there and nothing is getting heating up too fast. Then replace the chipset.

Nothing gets hot; nothing. We have already ordered a gpu from china.

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                              by Asraf Atb
                              Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

I have a floodlight-security camera that recently died on me.

its hardwired to 115v po115v outlet. One evening it simply died. After some troubleshooting (ensuring it had power and ensuring the electronics were actually functional by supplying 5v via usb port) i realized the power supply must be the issue. The supply was noticably warm to the touch even though it was not powering anything.

Trying to understand what i was up against i went looking for others with similar issues and anyone who might have attempted a repair. While a few ppl have had the...

Best place to source RAM chips? 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB
                              by ugamazing
I'm looking to upgrade several 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB for personal use. I am curious what the best practice and process is for sourcing new replacement chips, and what vendor(s) you guys prefer? Another question is, how do I find compatible chips and their corresponding part/model numbers? For example, in the 820-00850 schematic, the DDR chip U2600 model listed (EDFB232A1MA) corresponds to 1x32GB chip. Of course, I would need 4x8GB chips to replace the 4x2GB chips currently on the board. How do I find compatible 8GB chips? Is it as simple as searching "BGA178 8GB 2133"...

That black glue in edges of chips on Lenovo laptops always lift me pads so i stop reworking them. Is there anyway how to get rid of it gently?
