where is the F14 fuse located? i have a similar problem on my T540p that has been bugging me for the last 6 months, on mine there is an F11 and F4 near the LCD connector

Not quite the same issue with my daughter's T430. Backlight works during POST and for all BIOS setup stuff, but then shuts off after the Windows splash screen is displayed.

Booted a live CD (Kubuntu if it matters) and it seemed to work for the 30 mins or so I had it running.

Yesterday, I had it sitting in BIOS setup and got pulled away for a couple hours and came back to find the backlight turning on and off every few minutes. Planning on tearing it down tomorrow to check all the fuses etc... Any other things I should check while I'm at it?

For those guys in the future reading this:

I had the same problem as described by Skiddz, quoted below.

I soldered the fuse F7, and now my backlight works perfectly. The specific component is the one above/left of the F7 text, with the "stripes". It seems to work when measuring using a meter. Half of my backlight died short after being turned on. Seems the fuse was faulty.

                  Here is another victim.
Thanks to this thread, I quickly identified F7.
I just removed it and replaced with tiny wire from solder wick.
My laptop is back to life now.

Lenovo V15 G3 No Backlight after liquid damage
                      by techpointhull
                      Good morning guys,

I have a Lenovo V15 G3 that came in with liquid damage. The damage was very minor and some corrosion on the IO board where the power switch was. After cleaning both the motherboard and IO board in alcohol, the laptop turned on and I had backlight for about 3 seconds but nothing further. I don't have a boardview for this laptop (Have requested this in the Schematic Request section), however from previous experience on Lenovo laptops I have checked pins 1, 2, 3 on the EDP connector. When the battery is connected only, I get 8V and when AC adapter is connected, I get...

The image is visible, but there is no backlight! On older Lenovo laptops, this problem could have been solved by replacing a fuse, but now I can't find the solution!

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...
