Hi, I have a problem with a Dv7 notebook. when i turns on (with batery or charger) after few minutes is shutdown and no led indicators on, after 1 sec tuns on and off again. This fault is a temp issue?? ( the cpu is very hot ) I clean the fan and replace thermal past.

Can anyone have a similar case ? please help

Re: HP DV7 with AMD turion cpu

usually to cope with the heat in the cpu and gpu I add 0.05 mm thin copper plates and thermal paste. not too big, adjust the cpu and gpu hologram to prevent short.

if you can flash the bios chip, flash it, but check first if you have 3volts on leg 8.

try to change also the rtc battery.

Drying Oven - Preset Temp Fail
          by tmcw
          Here's an unusual one...

This is a Gallenkamp oven, used in a laboratory space, goes up to 220 Celcius, but is usually maintained at about 115 Celcius. Used for drying glassware, molecular sieves, and so on. Oven is in excess of 20 years old.

It heats up fine, there is an orange light on the front that indicates that the unit is heating, and when it reaches the preset temp, the orange light goes out. All good so far.

However, after the preset temp is reached, the temperature continues to rise, power to the heating elements isn't cut off.

MSI MAG Z390 Tomahawk BIOS temp, allways at 0ºC and CPU goes protection 800Mhz
          by foshland
Hi to all, my motherboard (bought second hand as faulty, but now working after cleaning the ram slots) have a strange failure that shows 0 Celsius degrees in BIOS, because of that, the CPU goes to protection mode and gets stuck at 800Mhz.

Since its a 8-9 Intel generation, I know the CPU temp is the hottest temp of the cores (as i have read in intels documentation) so its not a diode or sensor on the board.

External temperature (motherboard temp) is working OK, 27ºC more or less

In windows, all the software I have tested shows correct the Core temps

          concerning gtx675m vram temp
          by mosfetratus
Is 98C vram temp are safe? Less demanding games goes 80ish.

Funny thing, there were old non stock thermal pads very botched, so i replaced them. After, temperatures remained the same, but performance (fps) improved significantly. With both thermal pad application GPU core temp was similar.

furmark goes about 104C, amperage keeps rising so do temps.

Dell Precision 5530 VRM temp sens
          by giulio93
Hi. I have a "problem" with my Dell precision and with other pc also and I wish I could understand.
The problem is the pc goes often in "Power Limit Throttling". I read on web that the problem is coused by the VRM not cooled (like the xps). I tried to pad the cpu and gpu mosfet bridging them with the heatsink but nothing changed.
I have a doubt, how the temp sensor works?
And how can I identified the sensor chip? In this laptop but also in general. Meaby now the mosfets are cooler but if the sensor can't detect it the problem will persist.
          Thank...
