How do you know that the HDD, RAM, and Windows 7 are okay?

Try to enter safe mode with a single ram module and do a disk check with all options checked.

That's from windows update , I did one like this today
disable w7 update and restore driver

disconnect usb devices such as cam, btooth,usb board, finger print etc.
