    Samsung R540 black screen

Hi guys, need help. I'm a moderate knowledge repair tech but I'm looking to know more..

I have a busted R540 and its problems are it doesn't boot. It lights up power LED and the fan spins really fast but does nothing else.
The laptop didn't overheated or anything similar, one day the laptop just didn't boot anymore.

I've already tried all the usual stuff, re-seat everything, tested AC adapter and battery, removed coin battery, etc and although the laptop didn't overheated i even tried a quick reflow to the GPU and chipset without success... After reading a post here on the forum i also tried to replace the CPU, but no success.

I'm suspecting the issue might be in the power module, according to some random posts i've read googling around, but I have no idea how to diagnose and repair it.
I found the schematics here, but I'm too noob to make sense of anything.. Sorry!

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance, L2D.

try ram, one stick a time, both slots, or swapping ram sticks for known good ones
    try removing ODD
both issues can give those symptoms

Thanks for the tips guys, but all this was already done as well as other "basic" steps... Laptop doesn't even respond to caps lock, wifi activation etc.
The problem is in the main board, and based on what I've read, I'm almost sure that's within the power module. Any diagnosing tips? If necessary i could post a couple pictures of the main board.

        Cheers.

measure voltages on coils, also check it from the schematic. Share your measurements here.

Hi spidey, thanks. Sorry for the delayed response but this week it's been a busy one.

I've measured coils B500 and B501 and voltages are normal (19V). I forgot to mention the laptop charges the battery fine and also powers on battery. Sorry if i was misleading saying the issue is power module, and not one of the power modules. Can you help understand which points are most important to measure to identify the faulty part or module?

BTW, correct link for schematics is:

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                  by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

                  Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                  Hello,
I have my TV model UE50KU6070 which I am trying to repair.
                  BN41-02528A / BN94-10800C motherboard.
If I disconnect the motherboard from the power board, the backlight works. When the motherboard is connected the backlight works but the screen remains black.
When I plug the TV into the electrical outlet, the standby LED lights up but no reaction to an attempt to start it with the remote control for about 1 minute. During this minute the TV consumes about 20W.
After one minute the consumption drops to 0W and the TV can turn on with the remote control but...

I came around this forum last week with the goal of repairing my faulty gaming laptop, indeed, I was video editing on it when suddenly a black screen popped and never disappeared I bought some stuff to try to repair it and learn as many things as possible about computer repairs but nothing worked so far. When the black screen appeared, my legion 5 pro was connected to my external monitor...
