    Use 330uf it should work.

No, don't replace with a 330uF without further explanations from other members.

Tantalum capacitors are not that high in capacity, usually they're not more than 22uF and are usually used because of low esr, so 330uF is too much capacity and depending on the voltage rating they may not be very low esr.

To me, those codes don't tell me anything, each digit might mean something in some standard or under the manufacturer's standard. But not knowing the manufacturer, it's hard to say.

Maybe if you post a picture of the area around this capacitor and say what hardware it is, someone can suggest some replacement.

I agree - Siddiq - can you explain how you decided on 330uf and what about voltage?

I have looked for the coding and so far failed to find anything so a picture would help

and the circuit board with the location from where you removed it? Picture with that as well please.

Do you have a multimeter capable of measuring capacitance? If yes, try to measure it.

OK In this PDF PAGE 2

Where it says "Marking" it suggests that

For a case type A or B ( The one with gA8 in it)

If that were to say jE8 then reading the notes it would be a 6.3v 150 UF

                        What does anyone else think?

Sorry guys, I was a bit hasty there, the value is actually 150uF 6.3v. A faulty laptop came in some time back and i could not get same value so I replaced with 330uF (6.3v) and laptop worked fine. I've posted picture of a D600 motherboard.

Duncanbest beat me to it. Those are indeed neocapacitors... basically some weird hybrid tantalum polymer super low ESR caps... as best I can remember the ESR is so low that you would have to use Kelvin leads to measure their ESR properly

                                  by joetristan
                                  Hello,
I’m using a 10 µF, 20 V tantalum capacitor as a decoupling capacitor across a 5 V supply. When I power the circuit, the capacitor burns out.

At first, I assumed the tantalum capacitor was defective and replaced it, but the new one burned out as well when the circuit was powered.

I then replaced the tantalum capacitor with a 10 µF, 63 V electrolytic capacitor. This time, the capacitor did not fail after powering the circuit.

I do not understand why the tantalum capacitor burns up?

Hi people, I hope this is the correct spot to post this, I'm new to the forum.

I have an RTX 3080 Founders Edition which has a burnt up capacitor (it was in parallel with another capacitor which appears damaged too), so I am hoping to be able to identify the capacitor values and order replacements.

I hope these photos make it clear which component I am referring to:
(yes, the soldering is a bit botched from removing the blown one, I know)

I have found the board schematic (attached), but there does not seem to be a boardview available. I have never...

                                  Hello everyone,
I am a beginner in electronic board repair and I am looking for help with an HP motherboard: CM 6050A2892401 MB A01.

Initially, the laptop would not power on. After troubleshooting and taking measurements, I found that a capacitor was shorted, which was preventing the system from starting. I removed this capacitor.

After removing it, the PC now powers on for a few seconds and then shuts down. I believe this behavior is related to the missing capacitor, which is no longer performing its role in the circuit.

My issue is that I cannot identify...

                                  Hi,

I had a MXM graphic card type Nvidia K1000m from laptop HP8570w which had a broken capacitor.

The ceramic capacitor seems was broken and makes a short circiut. The laptop goes off because of the short-circuit. But it seems currently that only the capacitor C55 was broken on the graphcic card.
Because after I have desoldered it, the laptop runs with the card. But currently without this capacitor.
So to have full functionality and no instabilities I want to replace it with a new one.

So I need to know the value and voltage of C55 to replace...

                                  Hi

While messing around with my MacBook Pro, I stupidly pinged off a very small surface mounted component that I’m now trying to identify.
resistance tests show a rising resistance value, indicating a capacitor.

The laptop boots up and runs, however I'm choosing not to use it until I get it fixed.

i can’t see any markings on the capacitor at 10x magnification using a professional jewler's loop.

It seems like there's some damage to the capacitor - one side doesn't have "shiny bits" - can you tell I don't do this for a living!...
