hey guys, hoping for some pointers to repair an eBay bought "faulty" laptop.
Ill try and give as much info as I can.
Dell Inspiron 17 (7786) Laptop
Service Tag: 5J0NHT2
Bios: 1.9.0
When I received this , it would only flicker on the KB backlight for a second, then off and on.
Then it started getting weirder!
Sometimes when attaching the AC power supply, and pressing various pre-boot diagnostic keyboard keys... it did try to boot, in fact out of a hundred attempts, the laptop did actually boot into the Bios ! but never has... -
Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. ๐

Hi, this is my first new thread and I am hoping to get some assistance troubleshooting a Dell Latitude 7280 (LA-E122P). I have fixed a few MacBook logic boards before, but I'm not familiar with Dell boards or schematics, so I don't really know what things are important to know or check first.
When I first got the laptop, it would not turn on. I'd plug it in and press the power button, the power LED would come on for a second and then turn off and the laptop wouldn't do anything. This was fixed by flashing the UC5 EEPROM, so I don't think there was any hardware issues when I first... -

I have no idea what Iโm doing, but Iโm learning by trial and error.
Iโm currently working on a Dell Optiplex AIO 7490โone of a bunch of AIOs that mysteriously failed to POST just a few days after the warranty expired. The original issue was that the PC worked fine until it was rebooted, after which it got stuck on a black screen (no backlight), with fans spinning at normal speed and a solid white power LED. Forcing it off by holding the power button would just cause it to switch on automatically and get stuck again on...07-04-2025, 12:54 PM
