msi ms-16331 short on gpu ?

    hi
i tried to reflow the gpu because the laptop turns on, but no image on screen or external monitor.

After that i tried to power on the laptop, but it doesn`t turn on. Power on LED blinking. I searched for shorts and meassure on the output coils to the gpu and there is a low resistance to ground? I checked other components in that power line but found none shorted. Can it be the gpu is shorted now?

I also noticed with cpu in socket, i measure also a low resistance to ground on cpu output coil. But when removed no low resistance anymore.
I think this is normal for cpu? but how about gpu? I should'nt meassure a very low resistance? (i have service manual)

Yes, it's normal for most GPUs to read very low resistance. Even chipsets can read as low as 10-20 Ohms, sometimes even less.

ASUS FX505DV no power shorted at PWM controller Pin 3 VREG3 TPS51225C, need pinpointing of the short.

(If anyone has a functional boardview file of FX505DV/DU that would be helpful)
(Had 3 problems, now just 1)

I have no experience or knowledge and usage of tools to repair devices besides the entire past 12-10 days of researching, watching YouTube repair videos and troubleshooting this laptop motherboard. ChatGPT was used as a guide to ask questions.
I used boardviews of mostly FX505GD-M, and some FX505DU, FX505DD. Used schematics of FX505DU.

I had originally intended to replace the BQ24780s first (due to previous battery removal while benchmarking) but I...

450watt power supply 5v, 3.3v short to ground wire,in output rail ,connectors
      by playit
hello everyone , working zebronics power suply 450 watts , 5v ,3.3v givin short to ground black wire, also in circuit at output, resistor was charred but shows right values , after removing resistors 39ohms, 51 ohms, there was no short , no continuity beeps with ground , but after replacing new resistors (now i am not switching it on) ,again short still exists . when i put bigger ohm resistor like 100k ohm , no short beeping sound comes , lower ohm resistor gives continuity beeps ,other big ones donest , as its a working psu , i am confused what to remove now or how to go further now .

9th Gen Dell Optiplex Micro PC motherboard repair: Short Circuit?
      by Geeker007
Hi All, I have a 9th Gen Dell Optiplex micro PC motherboard which doesn't power on. When I connect the motherboard with power adapter, it goes into safe mode and turns off. So from info I have gathered online, it looks like there is a short circuit on the motherboard. So can you guys help me with figuring out the issue?

I am new to electronics repair, so my queries could be naive but I am ready to learn.

So I have a multimeter and a solder with me. But I can try to get a variable voltage power supply with a thermal camera as well. From what I seen online, best way is...

      Xbox Series X
      by ryogadan78
      Good morning guys,
I am resuming an old service on an Xbox X Series that I really want to repair. I summarise what has been done because I can't find my previous post.

The Xbox initially did not turn on, no LED, no beep. Found short circuit on the 12V connector on the bottom board. Injecting 1.5V on the positive side of one of the shorted capacitors to find with the thermal camera which capacitor was shorted, no gave me useful information. The board draws 2.80A (1.5V), but from the thermal camera images I don't see any component getting hot.
I removed the coils one by...

Diagnosing short to ground issue. pcb from an e scooter
      by Leefreeman97
Hello, I have a pcb from an e scooter which had a faulty diode but even after removing it from circuit, it still has a short to ground on the three components circled. I have removed every cap on the board and tested one by one and the short is still there and all the caps test ok. Could this be because I haven’t put a diode back on it yet or where do I go next please?
