    Lenovo 4446-22G dead from heat

The title says it all, I received it as dead because the owner let it sit on beds and sofas for hours, blocking entirely the ventilation.

When I pressed the power button it posted but hanged when trying to find boot devices. There was an endless loop of the ethernet boot interface.

I opened it and saw a really pathetic heatsink that is just a heat pipe....

The vga is Intel GMA embedded on motherboard.

I don't know why, but it doesn't boot any more.. I press the power button and the only response I get is that the power led turns on. No fan movement, no image on monitor.

What do you think is damaged?

    Northbridge most likely.

I put the LCD and inverter of that laptop in an Acer Aspire 2000 with a broken LCD. It worked for several days, but sometimes the LCD light goes off, especially when adjusting its viewing angle. It lights again if you shut down the laptop and then power on again.

How can I tell whether the inverter or the ccfl of the LCD is bad?

Is there any possibility to be a bad contact problem?

If the light goes off when moving the lid it's more than likely the video cable. It could be a bad or dirty connection, these should be checked first

I had the same laptop model . When I opened it I found dust carpet that covered heatsink. It has a problem whit GPU , actually graphics looks like was generated in 8bit mode. When I pressed chipset sometimes it was working normally , sometimes it did not boot. So it can be the same issue.
I did not repaired it because customer said it will be too expensive and he got three more the same laptops so this one will be as a donor.
          Laptops and computers repair.
