Lenovo LOQ mdl 151RH8 bios Q: Can't get usb boot to list

I've searched and read Beginners guidelines and other sticky threads. This is just a simple bios question. If I may, I'm having trouble finding any help, including from lenovo tech support & forum, for how to get usb boot to list in boot options. I'm trying to run memtest86 so nothing as highfaluting as re-install, flash a bios, etc.

I've made usb boot enabled and secure boot is disabled. I can find no other option in bios ver LZCN34WW (the original bios). Would anyone here be familiar with LOQ or Legion bios versions & know what is going on?

    TY,

    From some Bing AI tool:

To boot from a USB disk on a Lenovo laptop, follow these steps:
    1. Plug in a bootable USB disk (USB Stick).
    2. Shut down the machine first, then press the Novo Button. The Novo button allows the PC to power on and go straight to Boot mode.
    3. Choose Boot Menu.
    4. Select boot from USB disk.

Right, even using the novo 'button', usb is not listed. With or without the memtest86 flashdrive inserted. Novo button gets me to bios or the boot menu but only the SSD with W11 lists as I've disabled PXE boot. Can't find anything in the manual or online as to how to get usb boot to list in the menu. There seems to be a key conbo that brings up Advanced config screen in bios but nothing about it in the manual and some statements indicate you can only make changes once, which would be ridiculous. The novo button does not give me advanced options.

I've posted elsewhere, like in lenovo forum. This is really confounding. Really appreciate your input mon2. If I find the solution I'll post it of course.

Check if you can boot this USB drive on another UEFI-only system, and check if you can boot another UEFI USB drive (e.g., Windows 11) on this system.

Hi, I have a few of these & they came with a custom bios boot logo, no passwords etc.

2 x were brand new unused but with custom boot logo, 1 I installed Windows/ran updates then it bricked itself. 1 wouldn't get past the custom bios boot logo.

The third I loaded windows, took a backup of the bios chip, then tried to flash several different clean bios's via programmer which all caused it to not boot. I tried to reflash the original bios both using clip & desoldering but...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
            by Wahaz
            Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

Lenovo M92p TINY 3238 lost ability to boot after BIOS update
            by keropi
            Hello!
yesterday I received from eBay a Lenovo M92p TINY model 3238 system with 4GB of RAM and a 500GB mechanical HDD.
I tested it and it worked fine, it booted to a fresh Win10 x64 French OS .
The plan was to replace the mechanical HDD with an SDD one and upgrade RAM to the max 16GB since I had 2x 8GB SODIMM modules.

I noticed that there was an update on the Lenovo support site so I thought I'd do that first and then proceed with the upgrades and installation of new OS.
The windows BIOS update completed successfully and the system booted to a bios-like...

Lenovo Edge E531 boot option vanished in bios
            by Minime_2003
Hi i have a Lenovo Edge E531 with a CPU 2.2GHz (Intel core i7-3632QM) with firmware HEET35WW (1.16) upgraded with Win 10 OS.

Have a issue that my boot menu vanished in bios.
When trying to boot system, screen is just black.
If trying to press F12 at startup the screen is black and all one can see is a blue marker blinking up in the left corner of the screen.

I have tried loading setup default in BIOS, this did not help.
I have tried removing, battery and bios battery and connected both batterys back and then booting system again. but this did not resolve...

            Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15-AST 81D6 BIOS Recovery
            by jendkkd jeje
So a couple of years ago i got a bios update through Lenovo Vantage, so i installed it and bricked my whole BIOS, so i couldn't fix it so i put that ideapad in a box, 3 years later i found that one PC and want to recover it to switch from a 2014 hp laptop to this one.

I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...
