I think you have 2 issues. First one is the battery controller or some mosfet near power on, and the other is turning off after 5 min. Did you measure the temp before it shuts down?

Check the megathread on this issue.

Primarily, it is caused by a bad capacitor made by 'NEC-TOKIN'

              Hope this helps you!

                    i had same problem

problem is with nec/tokin which is located under cpu (other side).

i changed it and laptop works fine for month or two and same problem again.

this time i changed it with 4 capacitors and it works more than 6 months.

Is the CPU and GPU getting enough cooling?

You might have a bad joint somewhere, which could be heating up and disconnecting, making your computer shut down.

Hm, does the power jack plug get hot? Mine (an L645D) started to give error codes, and the battery didn't charge all the way - the power jack was very hot, which told me that there is a bad connection. The wires that are soldered to the power jack were broken, and had arced and they were discolored. Re soldered the wires, and all is good

But I don't know if this could be your problem or not.

Hello, trying to fix C9 55 inch. I have pulled the back and all looks completely normal with nothing burnt so far. This is first time attempting to fix a tv so any help is appreciated.

Problem. I hit power button, red light on TV turns off and tries to turn on, no picture shows up and then shuts off. This occurred after house power turned on and off, not from a storm.

I have tested the power going from power supply to main board, all 12v and 20 volt readings are proper when I hit power button.

The power supply to t con is different story.
                                          This...

Toshiba Satellite C50-A won't power down

                                          Hi guys,

So, I've been racking my brains on this one.

                                          I have a Satellite C50-A which I'm repairing for a friend.

I recently replaced the main board due to failure.

Following this, absolutely everything works perfectly, except for the fact it won't power down.

Initially, shutting down via Windows would shut the OS down, screen would turn off (noticed the lighter black go to what looks like the darker black powered off screen as though the backlights have powered off), however the laptop was still running internally with a spinning...

No Power problem with Vizio E60-E3
                                          by rajbot
                                          Hi all:

I have a Vizio E60-E3 I am trying to troubleshoot a no power problem with. Thanks to the help on this board and elsewhere, I was pretty sure I had narrowed it to a power board problem. The board in question is a 09-60CAP0D0-00. Image attached for reference, but not of my board (tv is put away at the moment). FWIW, no obvious looking issues with the board.

I measured voltage at power in and on the fuse and saw 120V, so power is getting to the board.

On the pins out to the main board, I got no voltage at all on any of the pins. I assumed this...

HP Probook 470 G4 - Power and Charging Problem
                                          by Scoff
Looking for some help with this one if anybody can assist please? I have an HP Probook 470 G4 Laptop which recently started to intermittently failing to turn on, with intermittent white LED light(charging LED) by the charging port when it should have been charging and showing an orange LED instead. Definitely some sort of gradual failure. Now the laptop fails to power on at all, no charging LED, no Power Button LED either - seemingly dead.
Stripped down to the bare motherboard. The original HP battery, when disconnected from the motherboard, is reading 0.00v - possibly some sort of protection...
