Sony Vaio VGN-FS Dead no power

I´ve heard that Sony can be a pain to work with but I have one at the moment no power leds nothing.
Does not work off battery or AC
I,ve checked the battery chip MAX1909 and it seems fine
    Dcin=19 ,LDO=5.42,ACIN=2.28,ACOK=0V
The power chip MAX1999 isnt getting nor outputting any power at all since V+ is at 0V.
    PQ51 S to GD=19.79, G-GD=10v, D-GD=19.79v
PQ50 S to GD=19.79, G-GD=19.79v, D-GD=0.05v ,so something seems to be causing PQ 50 from having 19v and supplying rest of system but i havent been able to figure it out.

    Any help appreciated ,Thanks

Re: Sony Vaio VGN-FS Dead no power

In the area of PD39 and PQ69 on page 32 there was a tiny ceramic cap that when touched would give off a sharp sting or shock so I replaced it, now the shock is gone but my problem still exists.

I found that PQ79 seems to be shorted and it's a FDS6676S ,I have an Acer with FDS6690AS and not sure if it's compatible they both are N channel.

I did the swap but still get 5.2 ohms on source to drain with new one but then again when I removed them from board FDS6676S showed 5.2 and FDS6690AS was over 100.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
          by PantherDave
          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

          Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
          by GLISIT
          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on
          by PopsCaps
I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...
