    Hp dv5 504640-001

The unit was killed by customer inverting polarity with an external oem supply; now no power led and no signs of life.

I found 19v,3v and 5v in several zones, and 3v on pwr btn, but would know a good point to start for.

    Thanks

Could you please upload pictures of the motherboard? From both sides.

Please, attach them don't post them inline.

Start looking in the 5VSB/3.3VSB circuits.

Is it a Quanta QT8 or other motherboard model? You can try finding the schematic if you know this.

Look for the standby voltages first.

That's the embedded controller. If you replace it you will need to reflash the firmware.

Anyone here fix a tv and customer cracks panel when they get it home?
                  by mecha1166
About 2 times a year, a customer will do this. We fix the tv, put it on test play, and customer sees it working. They see me pull power and video wire. Sometimes I pick up tv, right in front of them, and carry it out to their vehicle while they are next to me. I set it in their tv gently, and tell them the tv is very fragile, be careful with it. I let them close the door/trunk. That day, or a few days later, they tell me there is a crack inside the tv. Normally I tell them transportation is their responsibility and normally that is the end of it. Has anyone had a customer that was not buying this...

Help Needed: Reverse Polarity Issue on HP EliteBook 840 G4 – Where Do I Begin?
                  by Dev Goose
Hi everyone, I recently acquired an HP EliteBook 840 G4 (6050A2854301-MB-A01) that I'm hoping to bring back to life. I'm fairly new to laptop repairs but eager to learn and willing to put in the effort to understand and fix this. Any advice or guidance would mean a lot!

                  What Happened
The issue started when the laptop was accidentally plugged in with reverse polarity. Before this incident, the laptop would show a power/charging light whenever it was plugged in. However, now it's completely unresponsive—no lights, no power, nothing. I've been doing some research and understand

Fixing a dimming zone TV with LEDs not lighting up. Dimming zone circuit introduces added variable to diagnose LED and/or Dimming Zone Driver board? Some 1/2 rows of LEDs appears to be out in active dimming zone off AND some brightness flickering with active dimming zone high while playing changing video

                  Conflicting Spec

Vizio indicate this TV has 10 dimming zones. However, LED strips and Zoned light driver connector suggest 12

                  Inverting op amp circuit
                  by DAVEMAC02
Yamaha Stagepas 300 pa system. I have a problem with the attached inverting op amp circuit. I have no output at pin 1 of the B amp. I have audio across cap 221. I've checked resistancr values and grounds and are all ok. I've checked for diode function on IC204 pins 2 & 3 and check ok. I don't know what other components are in IC204 and how to check. There is FET Q208 & Transistor Q205 and I don't their purpose in the circuit. I don't think IC204 is bad , but I don't know how to prove it is good or bad. Don't want to replace it if it is good as I will still have the problem. Need...

Asus E410 only works on battery after reverse polarity
                  by Kervin Mathumbu
Hi everyone. Fixed my AC and despite trying to be extra careful, I reversed polarity and got a notable pop sound. Now the PC will only work on battery. Windows still shows the battery as charging but the count actually goes down until empty (I have two of the same laptops).

I have board R3.0 so the schematics on another thread here do not match mine. I have tested the BQ charge IC and my pin 1, 2 and 3 have 3.35v each - instead of 18v or 19v. Could this be a bad BQ IC or capacitor? Any thoughtful advise sould be greatly appreciated.
