Hi guys,
I'm having a problem with the AC charger of my laptop. Since the past few days, the power supply stop working from time to time (Ex.: I'm using my computer and then, it suddenly shuts off). I made sure and it was not temperature.
I checked the charger's pin and I had no 20v. I opened the charger and found a buzzling transformer. I tested If I had 20v on the cable joints and it starts to rise up and then my multimeter falls down to 0v again.
I wonder, is it possible that the buzzling is because the transformer is not working properly? In the last month, I had...

Re: dell D610 charging save problem
Could you be more specific?
Upload a couple of pictures of the MB. Say what you've tried or what you haven't ...

Re: compaq presario f700
Have you tried with an external monitor?

Re: Lenovo 3000 Y410 won't boot
Yes, sorry.
Spread flux on the sides of the GPU. When you heat it, it'll melt and get under the GPU.

Today I found this website. It's just great: http://kythuatphancung.comRe: Motherboard schematics archive?<...cung.com

Re: Lenovo 3000 Y410 won't boot
In the first place, you'll need flux and a hot air gun, do you have them or do you know someone who can borrow them?
If you do, you'll have to disassembly the laptop. Cover the motherboard with aluminium foil except for the video chipset. Then heat for 3 minutes at 230ºC.

When you assembly back again your laptop, remember to use thermal paste!
Good to know but I think that pretty unlikely to happen, especially the CPU.Re: Lenovo...

Re: HP Compq CQ40 - CCFL on but no image
Ok, so one of the 30 cables of the cable that goes from the panel to the MB was literally cut. I soldered a bit of a new cable and now it's working.

Actually nop.
Tomorrow I'm going to a friends' to test the display and the ribbon cable. I'll post the news.

Re: HP Compq CQ40 - CCFL on but no image
I unplugged and plug again the cable from the MB to the panel but nothing.
The fuse in the MB, IIRC gives 2 or 20 ohms.
I think it's the cable, sometimes they fail after so many times you open and close the lid, but I'm not sure...

I had a similar problem with a Compaq laptop. The solution was doing a reflow on the video chip.

Any way to zip them or share them using Torrent? I think it's much easier than downloading file by file.

HP Compq CQ40 - CCFL on but no image
Hi guys,
I got this Compaq CQ40. It all works, except for the laptop display. The laptop goes on, you hear the sound when Windows starts, the CCFL of the display is on but no image is shown.
I tried with an external monitor and it works. It's weird.
I tried reballing the GPU but the problem persists.
Any ideas?
I attach 2 images of the motherboard with the plastic (I know)
Thanks in advance....

Re: BenQ FP71G+ inverter problem (possibly).
Are you sure the ribbon cable is well connected? I mean, are you sure that's the way and it's not connected the other way about it?

Re: AOC v173
Well, I don't have an oscilloscope so I guess I've reached my limit ;(

Re: AOC v173
MOSFET seems OK to me. It doesn't read less than 30ohms doesn't matter how. For what I have learned here, a shorted mosfet should read less than 30 ohms.

I had the same problem with a Viewsonic VX724. Those transistors and the transformer on the other side were burnt.
You should test the transformer too.Re: Viewsonic VX910

2...he transformer

Re: AOC v173
Great. I couldn't even find the datasheet.
So guys, what do you think? U501 and U502 are shorted or it must be something else?

Re: AOC v173
Ok, so I tested U501 and U502. Both of them have written on it "9962GH 822116".
U502, pin 2 (middle): 14,7v
The rest pins read 0v.
I attached a picture.
Also, I tested what I think it's a fuse. It has continuity but I don't know if it's really a fuse.
I don't have other control board to test but if I disconnect it, I get 0v on the cable connected to the logic board....Last edited by Nocta; 08-21-2012, 10:25 AM.
