    inspiron 1750 screen replacement...

I have just replaced a cracked screen on an inspiron 1750 with a new one ordered online, got it all back together but the screen boots to all white and stays white. I can plug in external monitor and windows comes up but laptop lcd stays white.Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Ensure the display cable is plugged in correctly.

An all white screen is a common sign of bad connection to the display cable.

Thanks for the reply but I have removed and reinstalled the screen several times with the same results. I even looked at the connection with a magnify glass before I reassembled and it looks fine. I am clueless?

        Incompatibility?

I remember a thread on here where someone did something similar to this with 2 (HP?) desktop monitors. The panels had completely identical specs as per their datasheets, except one being a glossy LCD, the other being matte. Still.. when he swapped the panels, he only got a white screen. Worked fine with the original LCD back in there (which IIRC had bad backlight CCFLs, which is why he wanted to swap them in the first place)

Both screens appear to be glossy and specs match exactly.

Make sure both ends of the cable are plugged in correctly. You could also try checking for continuity between the two ends.

White screen usually indicates a blown fuse on the LCD itself or a blown transistor on the motherboard near the LCD connector.

New Screen or Duff Used Screen? - return it.
