Asus Eeepc 900 high pitch whine & screen freezing

so, i'm fixing this for my friend. After getting the rootkits off, she still had the issue of having it in her backpack when a sports drink got part of it wet. Her keyboard has a bad right shift key, but under the shift key there is making a very high pitch noise. I kept moving my finger over the components and seem to have gotten the general area making the sound, picture attached, circled in red (with mspaint). Noise is no problem, but it (sometimes) has this freezing issue when you plug the power in (second attachment)

    what does anyone think?

oh yes I cleaned it with 92% isoprobyl around the area still does it.

That's an inductor, for one of the buck converters. Getting it wet may have deteriorated the lacquer on the windings so they're loose and whine. Freezing on AC might be due to bad (or wet) caps or extra moisture still lurking somewhere on the board.

          Hello,

I know some might say... just buy another one. Sell it as parts..!

So had this AMP for quite some time. Recently I saw light smoke coming out of the AMP. Had my fire extinguisher close by. Just kidding. Turned immediately all devices off from mains.
Let things cool a bit, and opened up the amp device. I clearly saw on the main board which hosts the 5X amp (5.1), 3 10 ohms 1W resistors had their leads looking black, while the rest of the remaining 2 x 10 ohms were brownish as being installed from factory.

Spent some time downloading the Service...

Viewsonic VA2010wb (High Pitch Squeal At Power On)
          by RetroComputingGrotto
I've got a monitor on my workbench at the moment that makes a high pitch squeal (that I cant hear as my ears are too old) when you power it on and lasts a couple of seconds before quitening and apparently it can be heard at regular intervals whilst on.

On opening up the monitor and looking at the PCB the usual suspects showed their heads so I have already replaced all the electrolytic capacitors.

The other issue that was reported with this monitor was the fact it took ages to start displaying anything after pressing the power button.

Is there any high current pouch battery that are size 60mmX80mm maximum thickness 21mm for a battery operated tab welder
          by sam_sam_sam
I have a battery operated tab welder and the battery does not have enough current for the battery tab welder because after about 30 welded it does not have the same current output it voltage has gone down by at least 0.500 volts or maybe a more than that

I can fit 21700 battery cells in the enclosure it is very tight fit for four of them that are 35 amp high current capacity 35X4=140 high current output this should work a lot better than what is installed right now

I tested the battery cells there are installed right now and they are testing good with no issues that I...

          SMD coil whine "chirps"
          by Uranium-235
Does anyone have high frequency sensitivity hearing and a motherboards have tons of sounds coming from it? Is this just coil whine en masse? When data to the SSD has high I/O I can hear the clicks and chirps. Same with when the graphics drive inits. Network adapters, chirping after I connect the cable

I can hear everything. Every time I put my ear to let's say an open Shuttle XH series pc (currently working on) in the next room it sounds like I'm in the middle of a the fucking public bird aviary

Of course this isn't just the shuttle, though I think the small case...

Extreme High Current & Low Voltage Short Killer ??
          by DynaxSC
          Hi Folks

I'm looking for a extreme high current short killer solution for a reasonable cost.

I have an LGA1700 motherboard (ASUS PRIME Z790-P WiFi) where I exchanged the LGA socket already 3 times, and every time after the socket exchange I get a short of power supply lines VCORE (V variable) and VCCIN_AUX (1.8V).
After taking off the socket, the shorts dissappear again.
The soldermask on the socket is already partially demaged from the heat, so I have reconstructed the soldermask by manually painting the missing soldermask parts with a very small top of a...
