hp labtop 15-db008 Powers On then Shuts Off

Hi guys have an issue with a friends labtop that has no signs of liquid damage. They said it just stopped turning on.When i press the power button it turns on normally like 35-500millamp draw and it posts and i have picture. But like after 4 seconds after it posts an image it shuts off completely. If i press power button again same thing happens. Did all basic troubleshooting with the motherboard like fresh thermal paste with it completely out the chasis with battery disconnected. Thermal camera shows these two mosfets heating up more than anything else when i press the power button.I have provided a picture of the mosfet location on the board which are heating up I assume to be the Mosfets for the CPU.Which measure 30 ohms resistance on the coil. And I also have 2x new replacement mosfets that i think are the same. Possiblly you all can kindly confirm that these two mosfets are the same?

    onboard mosfets = PK616BA
    replacement mosfets = AON6414A

Do you guys think it might be a bad mosfet or maybe a bad Bios ? Or you think it might just be normal heating or working temps of the mosfets and i should try a good bios first ?

A little bit of heating is expected on that area.6414A is compatible as replacement. No harm in trying for bios flash but since its an amd apu,may be its dying.

Thanks for the reply my friend. You were right the mosfets are indeed compatible. Because its doing the same thing. Shutting off a few seconds after power on.First thing i did was a bios flash.Same issue. Then did the mosfets swap and same issue. So as u mentioned maybe the APU is dying. So will give up on this one. Thanks again.

Help with Dell Latitude E5470 that shuts down when moved at all. Powers up, but no charge, power jack has brown burn marks
        by lowpost99@gmail.com
I have a Dell E5470 that powers up and boots windows no problem. Using a non-standard universal type charger, it shuts down immediately if moved, (power short in that charger or AC power jack) because the battery has no charge and isn't charging orange/white lights blinking on the front. When first powered up, BIOS power alarm stated that it could not detect the voltage setting and I had to dis-able the message to get past this. It got into Windows fine, as long as not moved, so I dis-assembled it looking for a cold solder joint on the power jack that I thought might be lifting off the MB, but...

Dell laptop powers up with kb backlight about 10 seconds, then shuts off
        by survivalbloke
I've got a Dell Latitude 5580 which came in for no power. It's not exactly a no power issue though. The battery was puffy so I replaced that, but the symptom is that when the power button is depressed, the keyboard backlights will come on for about 10 seconds then go back off. Before depressing power button, I am drawing 112ma and oddly, there is no change in current draw once the button is pressed and the keyboard backlights illuminate.

        Any ideas?

Harman Kardon sub TS11 (ds15 amplifer) blows fuse and mosfets
        by BlackScreen_22
Hi, I'll start by saying that I'm not an expert and I've reached a point where I don't know what to try/do anymore...
Starting from the beginning: I opened this subwoofer for the first time with a very strong smell of burnt electrical components, I realize that on the amplifier board there is a hole between V+ OUT and GND about the size of a finger, the damaged components were the shorted mosfets, two damaged zener diodes and two capacitors. I bought everything, I fixed the hole by cutting the pcb and putting a piece of a perforated board.
I had no problems connecting mosfets and capacitors,...

        πŸ› οΈ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
        by macabook
        Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
        🧩 Initial Issue
        • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
        • External display (HDMI) shows

Intel D865PERL - no Vcore after replacing MOSFETs and MOSFET drivers
        by kotel studios
        Hi,

Finally got time to fix this board up.
At first it didn't give any POST codes. Turns out it was an unsupported Celeron D cpu. After dropping in an Celery 2.6gHz the CPU came out of reset with clock signal, but still no post codes. For a while it did work when I applied pressure to the ADP3168 chip, but on next reboot the MOSFETs started to burn. Then I left it as is for months.

Now I came back prepared. Replaced the bad MOSFETs and the ADPxx18k drivers. Now I don't get any MOSFETs blowing up issues anymore. But sadly, the Vcore is missing. The whole VRM isn't...
