    Sourcing IP2315 IC

I have a custom device with a shorted IP2315 ic. Looking for suggestions where to obtain a replacement, or an inexpensive donor device that contains that chip. IP2315 a USB-C battery controller made by Injoinic.

      Re: Sourcing IP2315 IC

Thank you. The shipping may take a while, and there are some concerns about whether it's a genuine IC. I was hoping one of the forum members might suggest an inexpensive donor contaning this IC that I could find locally. Anything that charges batteries via USB-C, like a flash-light, etc might have it.

        Re: Sourcing IP2315 IC

As a general comment, China will clone a popular component that will allow them to scam a larger customer base. Openly, do not see this component as a 'runner' so doubt that the part will be a fake. Rather, it is a less popular Asian brand of a controller IC. Lots of those out there. The tooling and startup costs to build a replica for such a small market does not make sense for them to do. Aliexpress has a few resellers of the part and perhaps consider to buy a few from each. We have had a very good success rate in seeking out replacement parts for service and/or building of new designs.

Select a vendor with a high customer rating to move forward. Just my 2 bit feedback.

MacBook Pro 13inch 2017mid (A1706 820-00923-A) - liquid damage - USBC and Display short circuit
          by rilley
          Hello everyone,
I am new into this, sorry to post it here. I want to make this as a pet hobby project, as this mac is not urgent.

          I have (Macbook Pro 13inch 2017mid) A1706 820-00923-A

My mac had liquid damage a long time ago, the connector from J8500 is damaged on pin 46 (PP5V_S0_ALSCAM_F), I guess the LCD/display panel is in short circuit, as I saw the connector from the LCD burned as well.

And the resistor L4004 is literally burned.

From what I see from the schematics, it does not affect any other rails, only the connection to the display...

          usbc connector replacement on mobile
          by drscoot
I replaced the broken usbc connector on this Ciontek CS50 mobile device. It worked fine afterwards, although it looks like the battery went down quickly and the device got warm at the back (battery section). After putting it in standby for a while it didn't came back anymore?
The battery is still charging (red led), but no power on.
I had another look at the usbc connector, it looks like one of the components is melted down (blue marking)? I have a picture of an untouched device and then the repaired device with 2 pictures; what are these components with B1 and PB marking? Are these...

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 1 not charging on 1 USBC
          by nikolayu
I have Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 1 which is not charging on 1 usbc port (the one that has mark for charging).
When i connect usb it switchs to 20v but no current draw (only 0.02a) and orang light is on. In windows it shows that is charging but percentage is dropping.
          Other usbc is charging fine,

I installed lates bios and firmwares for thunderbolt and battery.

          Could be faulty JHL8040R controller?

          Problem:
I am attempting to remove the WWAN card whitelist from my Lenovo ThinkPad T560.
          Initial Findings:
          • My current BIOS version is N1KET58W (1.45).
          • I have a CH341A programmer and have successfully created two full backups of my BIOS.
          • I have the ability to use command-line tools on a Linux machine.
          Troubleshooting Steps & Conclusions:
          • I attempted to use several automated and manual patching methods on my N1KET58W (1.45) BIOS, including using hex strings. These attempts all failed.

          Dell 15 9510 - USBC 20V but no current
          by gurj1979
          Hi guys.

          Got a strange issue with a Dell 15 9510.
          No liquid damage.

A client put it in the IT room for a year, boxed up. Now they come to use it and it's not working.

I put my USBC tester to it and it switches to 20v but is not drawing any current. 0 amps.
          Nothing is shorted.

          Any help is appreciated.
          Thank you
