    Macbook A2159 - 0820-01598-A no boot

    Hello All,

I have one A2159 that had board damage and damaged pads for C3370 and on a pad for R3319 (pad USBC_XA_R2D_P<1>) and R3374 (pad USBC_XA_R2D_C_P<1>)
When I connect charger I'm getting 20V 0,03a (but not stable)

on repair wiki I've found to check U9000 but I don't have this IC on board and it looks like it wasn't even there.

    PPBUS_G3H is stable 12,62V

MacBook Pro A2159 - Will only boot in safe mode

    Hi there,

I'm having trouble with the MBP A2159 I have here. It originally came in with a fault with no being able to install the MacOS. You could not DFU restore or internet recovery. I tried many different things (New housing, new DFU cables, New mac's for DFU), nothing worked. I then removed the SOC Rom from motherboard (T2), and reprogrammed with a known good bin file. I then restored the SN. After doing a DFU restore, the Mac worked. I then re-installed the OS and it then came up with an MDM lock. I then got another serial number from a donor board and used that. MDM lock removed....

    MacBook Pro 2019 A2159 (2-port) wont boot

    Trackpad clicks.

Plugging in a genuine USB-C charger and any other charger = 20V and charges all the way.

Plugging in a Dell USB-C dock or monitor causes the voltage to cycle endlessly between 5V and 19V

The Caps Lock button doesn't illuminate.

Holding the power button (fingerprint scanner) for 10 seconds stops the trackpad clicking temporarily, but it starts clicking again after 3 seconds.

If I open the lid slightly, the trackpad stops clicking (it seems to be detecting the lid opening/closing).

    The keyboard backlight...

Macbook A2159 Board 820-01598-A wont boot
    by PACh
Hi, I got a Macbook A2159 Board 820-01598-A that is not booting, possible water damage but Im not sure... the connector J5110 has 3 pins burned: 18, 20, 22 the line of those pins is PP3V3_G3HSW_DFR, the line still has 3.3V
The board is out it consumes 20V and 0.50A in the boot process it go a high as 0.52 and the stays around .50A CPU gets hot, board looks very clean no corrosion, shift key green light not present.

    PPBUS_G3H: 12.6V
    PP3V3_G3H: 3.3V
    L7220: 0.843V
    L7210: 0.843V
    L7420: 0V
    L7410 fluctuates between 0.01 to 0.030V

[Macbook pro A1708] [Boot loop] [Trackpad ?]
    by No Lan
    Hey everyone,

Usually, I'm not the type to ask for help, but this time, I'm calling on your wisdom and expertise I've seen what this community can do, so I'm pretty sure you guys can help me out.

Here's the deal: I noticed my MacBook got stuck in a boot loop. After opening it up and doing some initial troubleshooting, I found that the boot loop stops only when the trackpad is unplugged.

Now, just so you know, the trackpad actually works — I tested it with another motherboard and it's all good. Same for the cable, no issues there. The problem is only...

Macbook Pro mid 2015 battery required to boot?
    by twonk9098
I have read many forums that state the Macbook Pro 2015 needs / does not need a battery to boot. I'm not convinced as yet which is correct.
The Macbook Pro mid 2015 I have has no battery and do not really want to buy one just to test.
This model has the newer trackpad which is not clickable when turned off.
At the moment, without battery it does turn on with no display (with backlight), no chime and then turns off after 13 seconds. I see this from the power draw on my DTPS.
If I hold the power button whilst connecting the magsafe 2 charger it turns on, again no image but...
