HP 14s-cr2002tu 3V3A short to ground

This laptop has a 3v short, client says he was replacing casing and on closing inserted LVDs cable while battery was connected. It never came on, I have tried to look for shorted cap or ic can't find one, is it possible the processor/PCH is dead?

my friend, you can find the solution by separating the 3V3A related connections with the schematic, it is easier to find it by looking at the schematic.
    good luck

Yes, the possibility that CPU/PCH is now dead exists, but more often such manipulations kills the EC.

In case of edp cable connected/disconnected with power source in, its more likely PCH thats shorted. Measure resistance to GND on 3V LDO(which is very likely shorted). You may need to inject voltage 1V/5A on 3V LDO to see if anything is hot.
