HP 14-CE0523SA (14-CE0000 Series) - DC / Charge LED Flashing 5 Times White!

    DA0G7AMB6D1 REV.D Board:

A strange fault occured while I was calibrating the battery. This battery had not been used for a while.

Previously to calibrating the DC/Charge LED operated normally:

    Off when no charger,
Solid Orange while charging with Charger,
Solid White when 100% Full with charger.

I charged to 100% then left it playing a long youtube video,
as expected the guage was wrong and it just cut off before reaching the low percent where it would sleep.

It wouldn't power on so I plugged charger expecting to charge back to 100% and have calibrated it.

As soon as I plugged it in the LED was doing the 5 white pulses and a pause.

Everything works perfectly apart from the LED. In windows it charges up etc and runs properly displaying all battery percents correctly.

The battery now works properly after the calibration.

The LED flashing is always happening even without the charger and whether or not the laptop is turned on!

I have another battery that was working and that also now does the flashing.

The laptop flashes with just the battery or no battery but charger or battery and charger... it is relentless.

No amount of google searching tells what this code means. HP only list power and caps lock ones etc.

Any ideas... The laptop runs fine but it is annoying! Passes all the HP diagnostics tests by pressing F2!

It does it with everything removed from board and only battery or charger connected.

I also updated the BIOS and noticed during the update process the LED was showing solid white because battery is 100% and on charger so was briefly working.

    Cheers.

Thanks for the reply but I already read that and the guy replying is actually replying to a different question! He even starts by talking about another problem.

      Cheers.

820-01958-A no power sys led = white when charger is connected.

        Hi everyone.

First, let me preface by saying that I do not have much experience with diagnosing damages in motherboards other than visual inspection and checking simple short to ground faults.
But I do learn quickly, and really want to learn how to properly diagnose motherboard faults. If someone could have the patience to go over this board with me, it would be greatly appreciated.

A customer came into my shop with a A2179 MacBook with an 820-01958-A logic board. The reason for bringing the laptop in is that the laptop stopped turning on.

        First thing...

        Sony KD-55X8509C white flashing/pulsing LED
        by stav242
I was asked to look at a Sony KD-55X8509C as it was not powering on, no lights.

On inspection, there was no physical issues.
I seated all cables and repowered the TV, then the LED light flashed Green / Amber.
        - this seems to indicate repairing required, done by Firmware update.
so downloaded the latest Firmware from Sony website and wrote to 4Gb USB drive.
Inserted the drive and repowered the TV.
LED changed to white flashing/pulsing ... and it sat there for over an hour.

i was unsure what was happening so repowered the TV and now it just...

SHARP LC-60LE640X display flashing white noise patches and totally dropping out randomly
        by dmcabs
        Hey guys,

I have a SHARP LC-60LE640X TV that has suddenly developed an intermittent fault of flashing white noise patches (appears like an Analog tuner off signal) and then totally dropping out.
This model I believe is also known as LC-60LE600U or LC-60LE640U in other regions.

FYI, a long time ago I was a component level repair tech for all consumer electronics and IT equipment.
I'm a bit rusty but still have ability to dig right down.

I measured all power supply lines and checked them for AC ripple voltage. Noting any lines that exceeded about...

Elitebooks (820, 840 etc. all gens) and those continuously flashing Power LED + flashing CapsLock LED
        by STKR123
As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.

As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.

There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,...

        HP Modelnumber: 14-dh0061nb
This laptop had a shorted cap on a Vcore section. After replacement is works again. But there is still a battery issue.
The battery is HT03XL and with the built-in component test from HP, in the Power section, I get an error: Logic State: Calibration required (20), Charge state: Blown Fuse (42)
I have another same battery, also with error: Logic State: Very Weak (70), Charge state: Blown Fuse (42)
And a third battery TF03XL (looks identical) with error: Logic State: OK (0), Charge state: Blown Fuse (42)
All these 3 batteries are charging...
