The STM32 microcontroller is now damaged. Do not attach a fresh trackpad at this time since this trackpad at one time was working and now has a hole in this controller IC.
There must be a leaky component that is stopping the use of both the adapter and the battery from working together.
Leave the trackpad off the logic board and review the power path flow using only the adapter / then only the battery and then finally, both together.
Start with the dual common cathode diode that powers the 3v42 power rail.
Be sure that diode is not leaking. Check this dual diode in diode mode.
You should be able to have both power sources be connected without conflict - without the trackpad being attached.
