macbook 820-00163no sleep wake problem

hi got this board with a burned hole in the vram zone. owner reflower gpu and cpu for no reason ( he watched online video and think that this method will fix every problem). after find gpu totally shorted, i decided to make it uma.
after send it back to owner he told me board was crashing, so i replaced also the 3 cpu mosfet, telling him that if that doesnt fix the crash, i give up on the repair.
after replace the 3 mosfet, board was shutting down while loading os, and after asking owner if battery was ok and he told me it was.... i discovered that with another battery pc was booting fine with trackpad connected.
now the board load macos and all ok, but if i close the lid screen goes off, but fan stay on, and if i reopen the lid macbook stay that way (black screen and fan spiining)

is that an smc problem or it's cpu pch related ?

LID sensor is linked to the trackpad along with TPAD_ACTUATOR_THRMTRIP_L.

Check the cable and insertion / seating.

smc_lid is 3,42 volt and goes to 0 when lid closed.

will check TPAD_ACTUATOR_THRMTRIP_L if low.

edit: problem is that this mac wont fully work if battery is dead or not present... i told the owner and 1st time he send me mac with almost dead battery, and this time he send me mac without battery....

without battery macbook start loading and at 30% of loading bar it restart in this loop.

yes without trackpad it works fine, but doesnt go on full sleep mode. owner told me sleep doesnt work even with a new battery and trackpad connected.

Have you attempted SMC / PRAM resets?

Remove the WIFI card @ J3501 and test again.

tried with and without wifi.... same situation reported down here:

if i turn on mac holding alt, i got disk boot selection. if i put a magnet on the lid sensor, trackpad stop working, but screen stay on. when i remove magnet trackpad (both click and cursor) return to a working condition. with and without magnet screen stay on.
if i remember well from what i wrote before and tested yesterday, without trackpad, screen goes off but fans stay on and no sleep.

I would check the logic levels of the attached table to see if the conditions are being met.

tnx again. i think problem is related to uma conversion . ive seen that when it goes to sleep it wake up keyboard backlight , but screen backlight and image stay off. because it's uma now i cant test with external display.

what i have found is: i followed a tutorial for 820-3332 conversion to uma, but on that tutorial it was written to solder 3,3 volt to lcd_bklt_en and lcd_pwr _en, but now on that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVzpMY8s9is yt video i see that he send 3,3 volt also to lcd_bklt_pwm, and i didnt connect that point to 3,3 volt.
tomorrow ill remove once again the mainboard and inspect the solder wire i did.

edit: ive watched whole video now and in the end he removed that lcd_bklt_pwm line, but that part is for controlling backlight, while in my case whole lcd stay black.

Make sure BIOS is on current version. Seen an old system have wake issues on old firmware with newer MAC OS.

bios i flashed clean me bios from here posted on some other thread.
ive seen that 820-3332 and 820-00163 are different regargind disable dgpu. tomorrow i will find a solution.

ok i got sleep almost working, but problem is no screen when wake up. i managed to do that:
1) send 3v3_so to lcd_bklt_en and lcd_pwr_en.
2) remove r9641
3) put 100k on R9640

after thjat when i wake up the macbook i got lcd and backlight for 1 second and then they turn off.

there must be some problem with mux gpu selection on sleep-wake up.

ive done some more testing. ofcourse if i remove 3,3 volt from lcd_bklt_en and lcd_pwr_en i got no screen.
if i remove gnd wire to lcd_mux sel and left it with 100k omh to gnd, i have black screen (backlight is on) at startup and no image.
pc works fine untill u turn off the monitor. even if i set monitor to stut down after 2 minutes, it wont come back.

after monitor went off, also trackpad become not working, but fans were on. after moving external mouse and trackpad, i got trackpad clicking back, and got image for 1 seconds. after that 1 second lcd went off and pc never worked again. waiting 2 minutes make trackpad not working again, but this time it wont click annymore.

i've found the solution to the no wake from sleep. in none of the turorial posted on louis forum and here was mentioned to wire poit 2 of R9704 to point 1 of c9711.

so to anyone doing the conversion to 820-00163, 820-3332. do that in addition to the picture and tutorial u find online: wire poit 2 of R9704 to point 1 of c9711. after u do all the steps in the conversion .
