    Dell LA-F115P

    Hey guys, how are you?
I am having a problem with a Dell Notebook (Mother Compal LA-F115P)

The problem is the following: When I connect an original charger, the equipment turns on, but not the display. If the machine is off with the battery connected and plugged into the charger, the charger charges the battery (Therefore it is not a PSID problem (I even have data transfer)).
If I start on battery, the computer boots normally. And here's the weird thing, if I connect a power supply or a generic charger, the machine turns on, shows a display and obviously I get generic charger alerts. The last test I did is power up on battery and plug in the original charger and the machine freezes.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause? The equipment came with a changed BIOS, I downloaded it from the official page and updated it with the programmer

Note: The charger works, because with other Dells, they work perfectly for me

Hello, thanks for answering! I didn't understand. Do you want measurements to know the measurements of the CHARGER (PUB01)? If so, which pins do you want to know?

I couldn't tell you exactly right now since I'm not in the workshop. But what is that question about? I clarified that the PSID is not only in 3V on both sides (jack and EC), but by measuring with an oscilloscope I have data transfer, what is necessary for the EC to know that it is an original charger that is connected.

What is the power rating of the original charger that is failing?

What is the power rating of the generic adapter that works?

There are numerous public articles on the operation of the single wire communication for the PSID line and with use of emulators to allow for home brew adapters.

The original charger is 65 watts.
The alternative charger also 65 watts

Perhaps I'm not explaining myself well. I have an original charger (which works and has the same watts as the device uses) (I tested it on other Dells) that when I connect it to the device, the machine turns on, but there's no image, even though I have one-wire communication (measured with an oscilloscope). On the other hand, when I connect a regulated power supply or a generic charger, the machine turns on, displays an image, but obviously doesn't charge the battery and runs slowly. The question is, what could be happening that with an original charger working, the device doesn't display an image

                          by BTubbs200
                          Hello,

                          Dell Latitude 5420 P137G
                          Board: LA-K491P REV A01

I have received this laptop which was described as "does not power on or accept charge." Battery shows no sign of charging when charger is plugged in, nor does the board show any signs of life when battery is unplugged and charger is plugged in. No light from the LED at all or any other indications of activity.

Board seems to have no shorts, all power rails are fine and show high resistance.

When charger is plugged in, voltage is present in 3.3V rail but absent in others....

Dell Inspiron 7567 LA-D993P odd charger issue
                          by Johndill
Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 7567 LA-D993P that I've just got running.
There was corrosion around PU1503 which shorted PC1518 & blew PL1504. (Reference pictures attached)
I've replaced PC1518 & PL1504 & the laptop is now running however I now have another issue.

                          Here are the tested scenarios:

                          1. With the laptop running on battery, I plug in the 150W charger & the charger shuts off (no LED, protection mode) but the laptop remains running on battery.

                          2. With the laptop off, plug in charger (LED says on) & the front charging...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                          by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Please help, maybe I'm just blind, I just have schematics not board view. Marked cap has been removed and laptop its turning on.
