    A1990 MBP 15" 20v 0.00amps

    Does not boot, will not enter DFU mode whatsoever, swapped out battery with a known top case with a good battery, still 20v 0.00amps. Disconnected battery, now it shows 20v 0.08Amp then his .03 to 0.00. When connected to battery its always 0.00A

    Bout to hit the power rails here shortly, any idea where to start just in case. Should be a simple fix, NO water damage on the board . Customer stated it was working before then it just died and stopped working. they are using an OEM charger as well so ruled that out.

          Sadly i checked the PMU rails and I am seeing power on those rails opposite of what the video is asking. For example
          C7867 is geting 3.3Volts as it should but in the video he has no power on those caps. So I am wondering where to go from here?

              Hello

              having issues with a1990 820-01814 logicboard
              was stuck on 5v
              liquid damaged on U9080 area

              replaced u9080 and cleaned underneath, also replaced c9080 which was corroded.

              after that was drawing 20v with low amperage (0.06-0.08)

              after removing the heatsink i found alot of corossion on U7370 area and U9850

              i replaced U9850 and reflow U7370 and surrounding caps \ resistors..

              now still getting 20v 0.08-0.05.

              i found out missing pp3v3_s5 and pp1v8_s5

              I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?

                • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.

              i9 32GB Ram 1TB

              Hi, I found short on one of 6 black nand (total 1TB).
              i removed all 6 nand ( voltages all ok) and now i want to program with JC P15 but for A1990 2019 there is only 512GB configuration.
              I try A2141 1TB configurazion with TSB4228 but the position on pcb is different ( U9300 and U9400 is no stuff on A1990 but present on A2141 and U8800 and U8900 is no stuff on A2141 but present on A1990 )
              macbook with A2141 configuration run on recovery but don't complete it.​
              anyone can help me?

              Hello everyone,

              I'm currently diagnosing a MacBook Pro A1707 motherboard that does not power on. I've gathered some data but am stuck and need expert advice.
              Note that i'm a beginner in electronics and i'm trying to learn while trying to repair this macbook that my work gave me. I'm really curious and love understanding how thing works and i already learned so much.

              Only one usb c port is taking 20v and have 12.5v on PPBUS_G3H. when trying other ports, 2 are not going to 20v and one is going to 20v but the CD3215 is getting really hot.

              Good day everyone,

              Let me preface this with letting you know that I have a smalltime computer repair shop but do not have a lot of experience when it comes to board diagnostics. I am good at soldering etc but finding the issue if there isn't an obvious burnt component is not my strong suit.

              The other day I got a customer come in with a macbook A1990 (motherboard 820-01814-A) that would not turn on and had previously been getting the warning message that the battery needed servicing. (Most folks seem to ignore that message, just like the check engine light in vehicles.)...
