I can't find the schematic or the boardview. This model even if it has a non-removable battery also has a 3v cr2032 battery. Randomly the bios gets corrupted and needs to be reprogrammed. I noticed that even if the cr2032 is ok it doesn't work, removing the main battery and inserting the power supply the board turns on even if the 3v battery is present. I could also take the cmos battery out but I think the problem is somewhere else.

Often to restart a motherboard we remove the ram (it is not always necessary) and remove the cmos battery, press the power button (to discharge any residual voltage) and reconnecting the power supply the system restarts. On some boards (asus) the system reboots twice and then loads the operating system. Has anyone studied the reason for this behavior and (in case the bios needs to be reprogrammed) analyzed how to identify the module responsible for the bios block (especially in uefi systems)?

This laptop have come with some strange faults.
1. CMOS battery was flat 0v
Symptoms:
- After using the laptop and shutting down and removing the AC adapter for at least 1 minute, the laptop never turned on until EC reset (either shorting RTC or removing battery and long pressing power button)
Amp drawing was stuck at 0.005 milliamps.
- Laptop cannot really be turned off because it autostarts about 5 sec-1 or 2 minute. (lid sw is not the problem)

My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.

Symptoms: not turning on. There is only the LED battery indicator working. The owner of the laptop told me this problem arrived one week after having changed the battery. He then managed to power on the laptop only once, and then it never powered on again.
Tests already made:
- Battery is charging when laptop is plugged in. The LED battery indicator turns white after a couple of hours of charge, indicating that battery is fully charged. However, laptop won't turn on anyway, with or without AC plug.

I bought a Vostro 3400 motherboard (LA-K033P) to upgrade over my damaged Inspiron 5593 (LA-J091P) board. Everything else is ok except for the battery. This battery I am using now is already a replacement one since I disposed of the bloated original one. Back in the Inspiron 5593 motherboard, the battery charges fine and is identified just fine. However, with the upgraded motherboard, suddenly the replacement battery is labeled as "Not a dell battery". When I borrow a similar battery from my colleague (which did not have replacements yet), it is identified and charges just fine.

This problem is based on my experience with an ASUS Z390 Prime motherboard, but it appears to affect other motherboards
