Many people using this thread seem to be downloading NOR dumps, or reading/patching and writing to their NOR chips without seeing if the actual chip is working properly.

Some of the posts on here even say they read the NOR, and re-programmed the NOR with the same .BIN file and it seemed to work. This tells me the NOR chip might be dodgy, and may lead to another future failure.

Can anyone here provide some testimony that they have tested NOR chips by writing all 00 or all FF back-to-back and VERIFY if the contents of their NOR chips actually match exactly what is expected?

If even one bit does not verify it could cause issues and hints at a possible bad IC.

So far, I have not seen any evidence that anyone is verifying their NOR performance, or that the contents they are programming are accepted bit-for-bit on the IC itself.

Not criticizing anyone. I just genuinely want to know if the NOR contents corruption is a software issue, or a hardware issue.

As others in this forum have cautioned, we should not just download random things from the internet (due to console specific things like serial number, LAN mac address, WIFI mac address, disc or discless, any many others) without knowing what the risks are. Many people may have good NOR contents but the chip is not working correctly.

Hope to hear some other people's experiences.
i know my revelprog the will verify contents match uploaded or saved vs actual eeprom data. So I'm sure it's all up to the person or program that is being utilized. At the same time using an oscilloscope and verifying clock and data transfer from Southbridge to the chip will verify whether or not things are working as intended IC wise.

Why was my post deleted then? I was never in contact with BWE ever? check my messages I haven't received a single one ever on this platform, well mostly because I forgot to introduce myself like 8 years ago😂. Nor has he ever told me to endorse his product? It was a legitment fix to a problem. I mostly lurk here as you can see my account age vs posts as most have been answered when finding problems using this forum, this particular question hasn't been and he had a legitment solution, to which I ended up finding myself as his comments were always deleted before anything. The practices here aren't even the best or rely on copying data with zero procedures described and doing things blindly using other consoles data. I'm not shilling his products, its literally a solution to a problem and worked perfectly. Honest question, how would we go about helping others if the best/easiest solution for a diy'r is a cost effective paid service? Should I not reference them at all? I know you have strict rules about endorsement, but who has actually posted anything in this thread that would lead to fixing a Nor file? Other than copying someone else's data and flashing it, which is more a work around vs an actual fix? Probably as to why people here are now having issues with mac addresses and wifi modules not working because they are just flashing addresses from other consoles.

On a side note I know he's not very accepted in the community because of his semi unsightly business practices as seen before, But if its a legitment fix, why not tell people there is a way?

If this sort of thing isn't accepted then my apologies, truly. But it was an actual solution to my problems, and I feel like people could benefit.

How would you go about repairing your existing nor read? I'm just trying to fix my own console. Shelling out 100+ dollars for your utility to use it once isn't exactly in the cards.

Request HP Proliant Microserver Gen 8 (J06) BIOS dump to restore system firmware
    by Ahari
    Hi all,

This is my first post here (I am very new to forums!) and I hope someone can help. I am looking for a full dump of the BIOS of a HP Proliant Microserver Gen 8 so that I can get this mini server running again. (BIOS version J06 2019-04-04, chip 25Q064A). I think my board was partially bricked after a failed BIOS update.

I got it second hand in this state and all the normal attempts at bios restoration have not worked. I have even desoldered the chip and tried to load the actual BIOS from HP, but it is missing some parts needed to boot the system.

    I...

Request for MX25VB8035F (1MB) Firmware Dump – Asus TUF Gaming H670-Pro
    by Tamo Neko
    Hello everyone,

I'm working on an Asus TUF Gaming H670-Pro motherboard and need help finding a firmware dump for the MX25VB8035F (1MB) SPI flash chip.

    What Happened:
I mistakenly removed and erased this 1MB chip, thinking it was part of the main BIOS.
    • I later found that the board has two main BIOS chips (8MB + 16MB), which I have backups for.
    • My backup for the MX25VB8035F chip is just an empty 1MB segment filled with FFs, meaning I have no valid data to restore.
    What I Need:
    • A firmware dump for the MX25VB8035F chip from the same motherboard (or a compatible

DUMP DVR HIKVISION DS-7208HGHI-K1 (80389 Rev 1.3 Firmware)
    by Mephysis
Hello guys i really need help, i recently updated my DS-7208HGHI-K1 and it somehow got bricked, I've got it up and working now by flashing a new dump file i found but the serial number is really wrong and the uploader of the dump file probably intentionally did it.

I still have the bricked dump file is it possible to transfer the serial number of the "bricked dump" to the "working dump"?

Need firmware dump for LG 23MP48HQ-P
    by gun4as
Hello everyone, I have an LG 23MP48HQ-P with a mainboard EAX65543134. After a power flicker, the monitor only shows the "No Signal" message but goes to a black screen with a brief flash when an HDMI/VGA cable is plugged in. I cannot enter the OSD menu. All main voltages (18V, 5V, 3.3V) are stable under load. I made a backup of the firmware, but it was *after* the fault occurred, so my backup is likely corrupted. I flashed it back with no change in behavior. I can only find the firmware for the 24M38H model online. Could someone please share a working firmware dump for the 23MP48HQ-P?...
