Yes, basic talk must have threw in a password for advanced settings.

They were a bargain for a couple years but then they started increasing the price for the same service a year later they wanted more than the big companies so I quit them. The usual bs, you buy the device up front but the bassturds lock it on you.

That's what I figured, because the older ones are not locked.

They're cheap enough, just thought it might be interesting to try to crack this code somehow. have an old pap2t and obie 200 working well.

But looking at the video again, it says plug into wan port, There's only one ethernet port on the 701, not sure if it's wan tho. edit, nope just checked manual it's a lan port. Don't know if that makes the video unusable for the 701 or not.

I don't think this video is made for the single port HT701, as it only has one LAN port. Not a WAN and a LAN ports.

More there, seems like the hard unlock will work, maybe even the soft unlock which seems more intricate. I can not locate the dsl reports info. guess they shut down the site or sum shyt: https://voipfan.net/unlock/ht701bt.php

If anyone unlocks one of these with the info in post #14, let me know, would like to know if the soft unlock works for a locked one. I will try it when I better understand it.
