    XBox 360 All Polymer Capacitors

As the title says, Xbox 360 Polymer Capacitors, replacing all on a Kronos 1 revision board.

I went over a thread here (Xbox 360 with blown caps) and gather some extremely useful knowledge!

If I have things right, I can replace them TO

    x9 : 1500uF 16V 10x20mm
    TO: 470uF Nichicon FPCAP R7

    x2 : 820uF 6.3V 8x12mm
    TO: 2.5V 820uF Nichicon FPCAP R5

On this revision, there are other 820uF polymer capacitors for GPU/CPU - I'll be replacing those anyway with the above FPCAP R5

What's a good replacement for the smaller caps they are..

    x12 : 100uF 16V

    x7 : 220uF 10v
This can be anything from game consoles to arcade games to anything else that doesn't really fit into any of the above categories. When starting a new thread, please put the make AND model of your device in the thread title. Also be VERY descriptive of your issue, that way you'll get the best answer possible!

you can get 100uf and 220uf polymers
going from 1500 to 470 is a mistake probably, why not fit 1500uf polymers?
they are really cheap on aliexpress or if you can get kemet brand from regular suppliers

      1500uF 16V = 820uF 16V PCAP
      820uF 6.3V = 470uF 6.3V PCAP

The polymer caps that are already onboard don't need to be replaced unless they have gone bad.

The smaller caps don't need to be replaced with polymers.

Half the capacity? due to the faster discharge rate?

Xbox 1.6 Motherboards and Polymer Capacitors

            Hello!

I need to change the capacitors on my three original Xboxes.

Two of them are 1.6B revisions and have Hynix RAM, and the other one is a 1.6 with Samsung RAM.

The 1.6 has the infamous Nichicon HM capacitors around the CPU, which have all bulged and started to leak. This Xbox no longer powers on.

The 1.6B revisions have Rubycon MBZ capacitors that all look fine, but I’ll change them in due course. Both of these work fine.

I’ve seen some excellent threads on the forum about replacing/upgrading capacitors, but I can’t...

Xbox 360 Xenon Modern Capacitor Replacements
            by burom
I found my old Xbox 360 in storage and opened it up to see if there was anything that broke since it was built in 2006 (launch era Xenon revision, never red ringed, never been serviced) and didn't want to find out by releasing magic smoke. Upon moving the dust bunnies out of the way I was greeted by a bunch of capacitors with crud coming out of the top; it doesn't seem to have leaked onto the board so at least I have that going for me.

I'm posting here because I want to try to source replacement caps myself from Mouser or Digikey instead of braving eBay or waiting for places to have...

Firstly I am not a tech. You guys may see mistakes or oversights in my methods so don't be bashful and feel free to post corrections/opinions.

            =>Background:
I bought my son a used Xbox One original model: A12-220N1A Rev: 02 with original PSU & 2 controllers 7 years ago. I “modded” the unit placing a 4.5” 12V exhaust fan with a 9v wall wart adapter on top of the vent/fan of the unit. And plugged the Xbox PSU into a Tripplite LTR-600 voltage regulator. Also connected to the Tripplite are a 275w computer tower, an Xbox 360 PSU and a Westinghouse 52” LED TV. ...

            PS2 slims use polymer capacitors?
            by foxer
Do we know if they do? My slim is a 70012 model, though I've seen these polymer-looking capacitors in another slim revision. The service manual says nothing (apart from the values), nor do google and the many other forums. I've already replaced all the obvious electrolytics -- with no performance problems after a year -- but these colored-top ones grouped in the back are a mystery, and I don't feel like potentially screwing up things.

I think it's odd that apparently nothing exists online addressing these capacitors in ps2 slims in the nearly 20 years the console has been aroun...
