Hello community,
I hope you can help me. I am not new to electronics repair. Repaired a lot of devices but teached everything myself with videos tutorials etc. As my next project I wanted to start repairing PS5 EDM- 020.
Found one with turning on for 2 second and shuts down immediately. Hoped for a short in the 12V rail, because it's a common failure. But unfortunately no luck. The list down is what I did.
Checked all fuses, all good
Checked al coils, only found 2 coils with 0.2 Ohm
Injected voltage there, but nothing gets hot. I do not have a thermal camera, but a microscope and a lot of IP
Unfortunately, don't see anything getting hot.
I do not know, how to find the problem. I hope you guys can help me. In the image below, I marked the coils who are shorted. Interesting Info. Seems like besides the coils nearly nothing is shorted. Only one cap. Desoldered it, same short. Could it be, that this coil has a low impedance and therefore kinda acts like a short. In Diode mode with my MM 0.003V drop, so nearly zero. Checked that too.
