Hi,
The machine was/is password locked for BIOS. You can imagine I am writing here because things did not go as planned... I downloaded and edited both main bios and EC rom flash chips with 866II+ programmer using RCUnlocker for EC and BIOS patcher for BIOS. Verification goes ok for all files but now the computer is not even turning on.
When I press power on, white LED goes on but as soon as I release the power button it goes back to sleep. No beeps or other sings of life. Soldering of both chips is verified with continuity test, all is connected okay. Both chips were removed from the board for reading/programming and they read back okay after desoldering on no boot = chips are fine & working. When machine did not boot I flashed back original files but it did not change anything. It still does not want to power on. I doubt it is a soldering/overheating problem since I used temp controlled hot air station and a good SMD iron (and I am used to PCB rework).
Product Name
HP Z2 Tower G5 Workstation
Serial Number
CZC1267FKD
SKU Number
453L2EP#ABU
Feature Byte
3X476J6S6b7N7Q7T7U7W7a8HaUaXapaqaubhdUdpdqedfJfPhKhZjhk8.Hy
First two are original dump files, the other two are edited ones. After flashing original files back the unit still does not want to boot.
Did I do something obviously wrong with editing? CMOS battery was removed as well as CMOS reset button pressed.
Br,
Mario
