You can remove the SPD with a macro script - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...20#post3232220
Alternatively ,search the internet for SPD removal tool and use that, it does the same thing.

I doubt it will work though as the SPD is in the EC firmware.

        APCB (AGESA PSP Configuration Blob)
        Coreboot info https://doc.coreboot.org/soc/amd/family17h.html
APCBs are used to provide the PSP with SPD information and optionally a set of GPIOs to use for selecting which SPD to load.

Appreciate it, i will give it a go tomorrow, didnt know this existed, ive only done onboard ram mods via resistors in the past, but there doesnt seem to be a full schematic for this board available

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
              by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

              Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Schematics and board view for Lenovo GYG41 Motherboard
              by MaineFix
              Hi,

Does anyone have schematics and board view files for GYG41/GYG51 motherboard?
The mother board I am currently working is not charging or powering on.
When I plug in the ampmeter I am getting 5v 0amps. I have been looking for a short but can not find any. I did find two of what I believe are capacitors but I am not quite sure. When i measure them in continuity mode on my multimeter I am getting a beep on both ends of the components. When I test them with one probe on ground I don't get a beep. Am I way off or is this an issue? I have attached a picture for reference....
