Ok. So I did a diff on previous submitted and unlocked files and found the edits that were made. Edited my own file, re-flashed and it works :-) Thanks for the info.

Hi All.
So i got a free Little Dell Micro That I want to put linux on to further learn on, however, its Bios Locked with the 8FC8, and I need to change some settings on it.
Ive been reading this forum, and it looks like this bios can be patched, but in order to do so, i would need a dump of my existing bios, which i dont have. I dont have the equipment to do so either at this time. I wasnt sure if someone had a Bios I could use for this? Im a little confused on how this
actually works. But im learning!
Dell micro Optiplex 7080
Service Tag: 5H9N8B3
8FC8 Bios lock.
Need either original bios or patched? Thank you!Comment

Just an update.
Im a moron, I was thinking the Bios could be flashed with software if someone uploaded. but looks like it would need to have a programmer to flash it, which i dont currently have.
Nevermind then!Thanks anyways

Finally, I did some research, and it seems I need a programmer to back up my BIOS. The BIOS chip is MX25L25673GHI with 16 pins. I'm not sure which exact programmer and clip I should buy. Can anyone recommend a reliable setup that works well for this chip? And, is it possible to back up the bios just by using Windows OS on the computer directly, because i see various app such as Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit that looks fine. Thanks for your help

Due to a lack of donations, server free space at a critical level, and possible closure of Bios Requests all donations are welcome, click:

It seems to be not 100% supported bei the cheap 341-Programmers even with the 3.3V setup. with those programmers i had only problems with this chip.
And please check the pinout ! some "standard" 16 to 8 pin adapters delivered with the programmers just not work.
i found a post on winraid/levelone which was very helpful.
here the mapping 16 to 8 that finally worked for me and those macronix chips.

Hello, I hope you're all doing well.
I'm looking for help from someone regarding the BIOS of a Dell OptiPlex 7080 Micro. Someone tried to remove the password, and after that, the PC no longer gives any display — it just goes into a restart loop.

by mrrubikHi folks,
I got a Dell Optiplex 7010 micro PC (Exact Model) with 8FC8 BIOS and locked out admin password. I attempted to remove the password by patching the BIOS via info from this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ssword-patcher
After flashing the patched the BIOS, the PC is unresponsive with a solid AMBER power LED (not documented in manual anywhere)
Steps I took:- Read BIOS with CH341a, verified hash twice
