I Have 2 5090 optiplex's that have the Bios admin locked, both on 8FC8 Bios, i have a ch341a but only with a 8 pin clip, have ordered a 16pin clip, the chip on the motherboard is a Winbond 25R256JVFN, would i need to modify the 16pin clip one i get it, or will it work with no modification? i have the v1.7 of the ch341 with voltage adjustment.

          Thanks

            Need some help,
Managed to read the 25R256JVFN bios chip, took 2 copies, made the modification of searching for "00 FC AA" and replacing it with "00 FC 00" ( nothing came up on this one ), then the same for "00 FD AA" and replacing it with "00 FD 00" had 2 entries. Erased the chip and wrote the modified bios file to the IC, pc would not boot at all, only orange power light came on and off.
Erased the bios again and wrote the original copy, still would not boot, any ideas?

            Both files attached

            Any help appreciated, Thanks

You failed because the backup failed.

How can i verify the backup is correct before erasing the Bios chip?
I have another identical unit, will pull the backup off that and try and put it on the 1st machine before proceeding.
