    MSI K7T266 Pro bad caps

    Hi guys,

After one month of continuous problems with my PC someone tipped me on this site and the possibility of bad caps. So I just found out that my 3 yr old MSI K7T266 Pro has got 8 bad caps (4 popped with electrolyte coming out from the top and 4 clearly blown). Thought I post it here just for statistics sake.

The included photo shows one of the blown caps (sorry for the bad quality but I had to take it with my mobile)

I gave MSI a call, to see if they could supply me some new capacitors to try to repair it myself. To my big surprise they were very helpfull and after I provided them a copy of the invoice proving that I really paid for this MB they have sent me without costs 20 new capacitors so that I can try to repair it.
Time to practise my soldering skills again

what brand are the new caps? If they are of known crap brand then expect to do this same thing in about a year or less.
      The great capacitor showdown!
