    Soyo Kt400

This board has me thinking I should recap it. I'm getting an on-die temp reading of 69C, external is 58C (CPU temps according to BIOS). Fan is 3700rpm AMD, heatsink is aluminum but with copper core.

    Hardinfo is showing me 48C.

This board is using Silver coloured SACON caps.

I installed a 128MB video card which resulted in a lockup while running HARDINFO .
Switched to a 32MB Nvidia card and HARDINFO runs, but I still suspect too hot.

Is there a relationship between Northbridge temps and cap quality?

The SACONs I removed from my other SOYO board measured OK as far as ESR and capacitance.

Soyo SY-7VBA133 Won't react to power on. Could it be this capacitor?
    by silencerar
Hi! I have an old SY-7VBA133 that I can't manage to turn on. The power supply works and the processor does as well.

According to the manual it looks like it should have a 5v indicator led, which doesn't turn on (I really don't know where it's located either)

I've noticed that it has a capacitor next to the power supply connector that is slightly bulged. Before I try to replace it, do you think it could be the cause for this motherboard not turning on?

There are 3 capacitors, it's the one in the middle.

I've uploaded a picture of it here...

    Soyo SY-7VBA133U recap
    by rattlesnake
    Hi guys,
I'm going to recap this baby. I found it dumped in the street years ago, and now it's time has come. I remember having tested it and it posted back then.

Original caps are bulged and look nasty. All are SACON
    11 x 1000uF 10v
    12 x 1500uF 10v
    1 x 470uF 16v
    11 x 22uF 25v
    1 x 10uF 25v

The smaller ones look fine. Should I replace them too?

I read on another forum that I could replace the 1500uF caps with 2200uF caps. Is that so?
The thing is I could get Sanyo 2200uF or Capxon 1500uF (or Jackon 1500uF)....

Just came across this page this morning, while downloading some drivers from soyo's site. They have a small image on the homepage:

The dates are at the end of the summary, and it's pretty late in the game. Not that it makes much difference for me anyway, since I'm not in the US. You still have time to make a claim though.

Comet Lake laptop insane temps and memory
    by Uranium-235
I got a new MSI A10M-265. So far it's been pretty good. 15" screen, lighted keyboard. First thing I did was clean the cpu/hs off and apply AS5

This thing has a boost frequency up to freaking 4.9. When it does the temps max at about 97c

I've been using ThrottleStop to cap the multiplier to 35 (3.5ghz). It's been keeping it about 94c. Is this a little extreme? is it designed for this? I've gotten mixed results in online searches. Some say it's ok as long as it doesn't hit 100c, which mine has never hit

Also weird, the single 16gb 2666 stick does not work...
