    Discovered this by accident..

Thought I would pass along a tip I discovered by accident while working on a ASRock 775 board couple of weeks ago.

The major complaint was the board intermittently booted then it wouldn't. When I got the board, it wouldn't boot at all period. Initially I figured the board to be dead period.

Well for the hell of it, I left the RAM out to see if I would get any sort of beep code. I did, so this told me the board was still okay. After replacing about 10-15 bad caps on the board, the thing worked!!

    nothing new...

my ASRock 4Core Dual VSTA had Evercon (= Sacon = GSC = some other brand i cant remember) 6.3V 1000uF everywhere..

lots of random quirks and lockups...

none of the caps looked bad (bulging or something), but... well.. fishy smell while desoldering

replacing all of them fixed that. no problems anymore..
now the board even overclocks better (a bit higher and more stable) *yay*
