I need to replace one of the capacitors that fell off the motherboard. They look like whats in the picture at http://www.pcstats.com/articleimages...sliplus_m1.jpg. The one that I need to replace is 711, 471, 6.3v. Any help is appreaciated. thank you

I'm not sure of the manufacturer or how they do their markings, so I could be off the mark here.
But most likely:
471 probably means 470uF (47 are the significant digits, 1 is the number of zeroes to append).
711 is probably a manufacturing date code.
Can't be sure what to replace it with without knowing the brand and series. But if I had to guess I'd look up that size (470uF 6.3v) in United Chemicon PSA series sold at digikey. Those are very high end caps so they'll probably do fine. -

fujitsu re solid polymer.ncc psa will work too and can get at digikey.

Yes, Fujitsu.
And yes again, 470uF 6.3V polymer. How on earth this can fall out? This is through hole solder unless your board is using SMT capacitors.Comment

Thanks for all the info. I will try to order some from digikey.
As for the cap falling off, it looks like some one knocked it off when taking the heatsink off. The dimm slot latch closest to the cap is also broken.
I'm hoping that the cap is the only major thing broken.Comment
