Re: ECS K7VZA - strange behaviour after recap
How do you come to the conclusion that every C1 error equals corrupt BIOS?
For instance I have a ABIT IP35 Pro that will stop at C1 with a 512MB stick but complete POST successfully with a Corsair XMS 2GB stick.
momaka - half of the stock of my GPUs are FX5200/5500
I also have a 9250, a 9550, two MX 440 64MB, a GF2 MX400 and the rest is just way old stuff, like a Rage 128, a Rage IIC and a Avance Logic ALS4000 that needs a RAM chip.

Reflashed that board with a older EPoX EP-7KXA and nothing.

by FederauseHi everyone,
I have an HP 250 G7 for assistance. I've changed the battery (the old was dead) with a not-original.
It has a particular behaviour that I've never seen:
With the lid open, the voltage is present on the relative pins. Upon a time I close the lid, after 5-10 sec. the voltage drops down to 0. If I re-open the lid, the battery keeps stuck in this situation. I have to connect the power supply to "resurrect" the battery. In this way, I can power on the laptop without any problem and also use it without the power cord. If i shutdown the laptop, keeps it with the... -
by howardc64Fixed a 10yo HP inkjet with a bulging cap on the digital computer power rails (1 to 5V). Unstable voltages causing these inkjets to not boot properly or crash quickly. Seems like more and more of these are showing up nearing the 10 year mark. Board design seem to look similar for many of these printers.

by YmotaqiThe motherboard does not POST and has the following symptoms:
When the power button is pressed, the fans and RGB turns on.
When the power button is pressed, the motherboard voltages 12, 5, and 3 are connected.
The motherboard does not beep.
None of the diagnostic LEDs light up.
USB voltage is off.
VCORE voltage is off.
The BIOS software was downloaded from Asus site and installed using the Q FLASH button, but it made no difference.
I would appreciate it if anyone could guide me on the cause of the problem.

by momakaI've been seeing a lot of cheap-looking (but not always so cheap) no-name AGP video cards on eBay for a while. They started popping up quite a bit when the market for AGP cards became more alive all of a sudden due to interest in “retro” PCs. One thing that struck me about these cheapo cards is that they almost always seem to come with garbage caps - including the abominable Sacon FZ. That aside, though, I've been wondering about the rest of the quality (or lack of?) on these cards. So I decided to satisfy my curiosity yet again.
This one was actually suggested to me by ChaosLegionnaire.... -
by MisterAILHi everyone,
Brought a non functionnal PS5. Apparently only a bad PSU...
No beep, nothing.
After some tests i found this :
- PSU is fine (12 volts stable)
- 12 volts line is shorted
- DA9065 was fried, F7003 also => Replaced both of them, short is gone on 12 volts line, no dead short anywhere else.
- By the way, nothing change. No signal, no power, no beep.
Mesuring all rails with my workbench psu (12 volts input)
- 0.00 amp drawing
- 12 volts, 5 volts, 2 volts, 1,15 volts are presents (suppose new DA9065 do is...5 Photos - Loading...
