Acer DAA75L Aparker motherboard, CMOS error

    Hello all

I have a small desktop computer, Acer Aspire, no model number on it, label has been removed, but similar to Acer Aspire M3470, at least containing the same motherboard.

When i start it, i hear to fast beeps which means for this model "CMOS checksum Error" on the screen it has the error message "This bios is exclusively for Acer only" and no other mention or possibility to enter the BIOS setup. I did a clear cmos with the jumper.
I found the CMOS battery at 0V, even replacing it, the problem still occurs.
There is a a picture of the Bios area.
I don't know where is the CMOS chip, should i replace it ? Should it be flashed first ?

Then to be sure i drained the motherboard residual using the power button as usual, no luck.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello all

Since yesterday i tried to update the BIOS by the recovery system using a USB stick and the keys CTRL+Home but no luck it never enter flashing.
USB stick is 32GB formated in fat32 and empty, i renamed the rom as AMIBOOT.ROM and AMIBoot.ROM following the service manual, none worked.

That Acer message isn't an error and always appears.

Hello, thank you for your reply

Yes i know, but the 2 beeps is an error post meaning CMOS error, and i mean, only this line of post and the copyright notification appears on the screen, the rest of the Bios loading is suspended.

Should i replace the cmos chip, and will it fix the problem ?
Otherwise, why the recovery BIOS flash fails in this case, is it too early in the BIOS loading to accept a flash procedure ?

It is sad because it is a small machine but not bad, if i replace the cmos chip does it need to be programmed first ? i never replaced it yet.

Looks like the battery tab is the likely culprit...

The battery socket has no problem, the power is going on the motherboard and no broken tracks.

I replaced the battery already and the rams too, but no luck it still be always the same.

Only a reprogramm bios with programmer should solve this issue, if you make a software bios upgrade with fpt for example not erase all old bios

                    Hello all.

Sorry to reopen again this post, but that is only to tell the way I solved the problem, ChatGPT helped me to locate a suitable dump for the BIOS, and now this nice little computer is at work again.

Chat GPT found this good link there https://driverscollection.com/?file_...3aab43e016bb77

Thank you again all for your ideas.

ThinkPad T470p – CMOS Checksum Error Persists After Main Battery Removal (even with new CMOS)
                      by Genghis_Khan
                      Hello everyone,

I’m currently troubleshooting an issue on my Lenovo ThinkPad T470p (Type 20J6) and would really appreciate any insights or solutions.

                      Issue summary:

Whenever I remove the main laptop battery and AC adaptor, then place them back, the system gives a “CMOS checksum error” at next boot, and the BIOS clock resets to its default time/date.

However, the RTC works fine as long as the main battery remains attached — even if the laptop is unplugged for hours. Same as I remove the battery while the AC is attached, RTC remains. Obviously,...

Acer 6920G with strange error - sometimes boots and sometimes not, and rare fan noise
                      by CasasElectronics
Hi, I've been troubleshooting this PC for a while but I cannot repair it for now.

The error on this PC was the known graphics card soldering problem (or that was what I was thinking), so I took a 3470 from a 5920G and installed it.

The video after that worked, so I thought the problem was solved. When I tried to install windows, I noticed a problem: the ACER logo (bios load) stopped after completing the loading bar (and that was in every power on, but sometimes not even charged the Acer logo screen, I only could see a blinking white bar).
So I thought it may be...

While working on my Acer Aspire with the OS failing to load, I encountered a motherboard number of DA0ZHQMB6E 0 REV: E. I was getting nowhere fast or slow, for that matter.

I have accidentally plugged in the wrong usb plug into a usb3.0 connector on front panel of PC resulting in temporarily shorting out the port. I shutdown the computer and now after an immediate restart I get an overcurrent error on boot up saying my PC will shut down in 15 seconds. If I let the computer sit for about 35 minutes, I then can boot the PC without getting error. What I am hoping to find out is what parts were affected by my stupidity. Anyone have any...
