    G-Luxon on GA-6VXC7-4X

I found a computer on the street yesterday.... It has a Gigabyte GA-6VXC7-4X motherboard in it and also bundled with a PIII 800EB Coppermine CPU.
It boots fine and loads Windows without a problem etc. But when I opened the case up to take a look, it had a bad cap next to the IDE connector. The cap is a G-Luxon 330uf 25V. The rest of the board has Sanyo caps and they are OK, there are other G-Luxon used in between PCI sots and thats about it.
So I looked through my cap stash yesterday and I found a Hitano 470uf 25V cap in there that fits the position as well, because the diameter is also 10mm. Anyway, can I use this 470uf cap to replace the bulging 330uf cap?? I noticed that from 330uf to 470uf, there's over a 20% difference so I'm not sure about this move.

    Thanks.

    Re: G-Luxon on GA-6VXC7-4X

Never mind.... I went out and bought some Samxon GF(M) series, 470uf 25V caps because they were ultra low ESR and it seems to have done the job.

    Thanks.

Most, if not all, of the 330/25 caps on Gigabyte mobos don't have a voltage greater than 5v across them - they can be replaced by 6.3v caps. If you want to be really safe, you can use 16v caps. The capacitance doesn't really matter - I've used 1000/10 without any problems.

        HELP: 330uF tantalum capacitors
        by dhan
        Hello Everyone,
I'm just a bit curious or let say uncertain for these caps.

I have tried to replace NEC tokin 0E907 with 4 pcs of 330uF 2.5V.
        the laptop works fine.

then another laptop (different laptop) came after a year, with the same issue.
but this time I have a different type of 330uF tantalum caps.

the one I've used before was 330 with small letter e on the markings.

e = 2.5V, but this time I have 330uF with letter d on the markings
d= 2.0V, right? correct me please.

the question is, does 4 x...

Can I replace KME cap with Samxon GF cap?
        by chth96
        Hello.
I have 29inch LG CRT TV,And Yesterday,Whenever I connect AC power cord to power outlet without switch on, I heard a sound like white noise, And When I switched on this CRT TV, It sometime displayed correctly But usually It won't last more than 20 minute and The screen begin to dark and It finally did not display at all for hours..
Today,I dismantled its plastic case and discharged the biggest capacitor(400wv 470uf) which still holds 250 voltage, and I finally detached PCB from cathode-ray tube.
I measured ESR value of most of caps in PCB with MESR-100 and I found that KME(25v...

Apple NVIDIA AGP GeForce 6800 GT Dual Link DVI+DVI outputs 603-6338 missing caps!
        by jpreza
        Hi everyone,

I recently acquired this card from a seller who was selling a PowerMac G5 for parts. He mentioned that the video card was probably broken too.

Upon closer inspection, I can tell the reason why it won't work: it's missing a bunch of CAPS! (it's also missing an inductor - 1.0uH).

It's a nice card as it's one of the few AGP cards that will support 2560 x 1600 resolution on a PowerMac G5 using a 30" Cinema Display.

Looking at the card, it appears to be missing the following:

        1x 1.0uH inductor - orange square
        2x...

TV "BLAUPUNKT"32/122I-GB-5B-HBKU-EU - ok standby - blue led on for a few seconds
        by truztruz
        Hello to all,

        I'm trying to repair a TV model "BLAUPUNKT" 32 / 122I-GB-5B-HBKU-EU with mainboard TP.MSD309.BP75.

        Red standby is present.

By pressing the power button, the blue led lights up for several seconds (about 6 seconds) but no sign of TV life (no backlight and no video signal on the panel (verified with a flashlight)

The LED then returns to red and then returns to blue and so on (the flashing is not fast, but as mentioned, several seconds pass between red and blue)

I measured the voltage on the main output...
