    Gigabyte GA-MA770-US3 - No Boot/ Fan Cycling

Had this Mobo for a while as main computer.
Over the past half year, every several days, the screen would just go blank.
But today it automatically did a complete systematic shutdown all by itself.
( i mused over the thought that it might be a hacker shutting it down)
When i turned it back on the fan 'cycles' from normal to high speed (you can hear it)
So i pulled out the graphics card and swapped the PSU - Same story
Then i checked out the power plug at the front panel connecter area, and noticed that it turned the computer on when i reconnected it.
    So i measured it's resistance - 2000k
(Didn't think that these momentary power buttons could develop a low resistance fault)
Used another power switch, which tested good - but the fan still 'cycles' and no BIOS beep.
It also wont shut down by holding in the power button.
Any clues as to what's going on here?

    Hi!
You can try to measure voltage on pwr button connector on motherboard. If voltage on red wire is less then 2V then you have dead Super IO controller on motherboard. All you said indicate this is the reason of all symptoms. Try to touch super IO with finger (but carefuly after 15-20 sec after power on. It should be hot or veeeery hot.

      Thanks
There is 5V on power button connector
The Super IO Controller chip doesn't even get warm when the board is powered up.
Now the CPU fan has stopped 'cycling' and runs at normal speed

Noticed that the NB and SB heatsinks are reasonably floppy, the two diagonal spring retainers don't seem to be a too great of an idea.
Did some searching, and apparently they are meant to be like this!
But, as a result, i think that they could quite possibly be fried.
At least there's some good caps on the board that can be salvaged.

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3070 Ti OC 8GB GDDR6X GPU 0128 (A2) freezes PC at boot
          by pctravel
I've got this 3070TI that only lit up at boot (no fans and not seen by PC). When taking it apart I noticed the PCIe GPU power plugs to the GPU had pin 3 from the top of the card pushed out of the connector. Once I got the pins realligned I put the card back together to try it again. Now it lights up and the fans come on but the PC does the normal single beep for boot and right away does three fast beeps and fails to boot. I unplug the card and the PC boots normally again. Clearly another issue with the card. Anyone see this before? Feel like some progress...

Nintendo Switch Oled HEG-001: Second-Stage Boot Failure
          by privato89
          Hello everyone,

I'm facing an issue with a HEG-001 motherboard that is unable to complete the Second-Stage Boot. I'd like to start directly with my conclusion, which is the decision to replace the MAX77621AEWI chip, and understand if it could be a correct evaluation.

Before I dive into the process that led me to this decision, I want to mention that I have a fully equipped lab where I can perform any kind of tests.

          Let's begin:

Following some guides online, I tried to understand how the Boot phase of the Nintendo Switch works, and what are the...

Hello everybody, I could use some help on this one... It's got me guessing...
I took pictures of all the boards and the pin out of the connector on the power supply that goes to the main board... I measured all the pins in relation to chassis ground, here are the result.

          (B13v)1. 12.7 volts cycling (Vamp) 2. 12.7 volts cycling
          (B13v)3. 12.7 volts cycling (PWM5) 4. 1.0 volts cycling
          (OD_LE)5. 2.8 volts cycling (PWM4) 6. 0.9 volts cycling
          (OD_ON)7. 2.8 volts cycling (PWM3) 8. 0.9 volts cycling

Apple MBP16" A2141 820-01700 PMIC power cycles no boot no shorts
          by flusher
          Bought myself a project thing. Apple MBP16" A2141 820-01700
          No shorts, no visible waterdamage.
          Dead. no history.
All USBC ports do 20V and charging battery.
If you plug battery/charger PPBUS is 12.6v and all power rails like RTC, 3v3, 5v etc are present. U7800 PMIC all voltages are present APART from PPVCCPRIMCORE_PRIM_REG (not sure if it has to be present at this stage?! resistance is 40 Ohm). SSD 2.5, 0.9, 1.8 are present on both wings. Charger meter shows 30ma or something like this on charged battery.
But what PMIC does is that it power cycles(dropping to...
