    BF6 recap successful

Recapped the BF6 and everything looks good. The board has been running straight for 72 hours. Initially I wanted to have it done but I decided to do it myself. Even with the professional equipment (at work) it was a challenge. Let's hope that the replacement Nichicons will last a long time.

    ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard recap
    by momaka
Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:

    Q53 'new' X99-e WS USB3.1 motherboard
    by Swell
I've encountered a myriad of challenges while setting up a 'new' X99-e WS USB3.1 motherboard. Despite correctly installing the CPU, four 8GB RAM modules, and a 980 Evo boot drive, I've been persistently facing the Q code 53 error.

I've exhausted several troubleshooting steps, including testing all the RAM modules individually and collectively across different slots (A1, B1, C1, and D1), clearing the CMOS, and removing the CMOS battery. Still, the Q code 53 error remains steadfast.

There was a solitary instance when the system recognized the full 32GB of memory, but...

Recap motherboards :: Abit KG7-LITE and Soltek SL-75FRN2-L
    by Foetuss
    Hi all

Hope this is in the correct place.

I'm planning on recapping both motherboards. I actually already ordered recplament caps for them, where I will be changing out most for poly's.
Could use some double checking to see if I'm not doing something stupid .

Pictures of the boards are attached.
What I will be replacing with what : (planned)

Sony OLED XR-77A80J - Initially dead, now 4 Flashes
    by thstuff
    A) TV initially dead
    B) On a hunch of a locked up Google OS, plugged in a USB memory stick with latest FW and plugged it in. It booted into the update screen, completed the update and restarted to Home screen.
    C) Was able to perform a Reset from Settings menu and completed out of box configuration.
    D) Ran a 4K screen saver demo for about 6 hours, then turned it off for the day. Did not notice any stripes, dead zones or other artifacts in the image.
    E) Powered back on and it now runs for a few minutes before relay clicks, screen goes blank, Main Board Red Digital Optical...

    "Challenge" Electric Stapler
    by waveydavey
    Hello,

I have an electric stapler that has stopped working. It's a Challenge Xtreme brand (UK cheapie)

When I pull the trigger it is completely dead. I've traced the 230V which is present on the board so it is not a fuse/wiring issue.

I know these are often simple devices (basically a solenoid), but this one has some sort of anti-latching circuit, and I'd like to keep it standard instead of modifying/bypassing it completely.

I think there is a component that switches the solenoid on/off as part of the anti-latching circuit, and may have failed....
