    A8N SLI-Deluxe not POST-ing - suspect a possible bad cap

    Hi,

Our ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe is no longer posting. I have taken the machine down to bare-bones, just CPU and motherboard but alas, no POST.

Everything spins up fan wise, disks etc but nobodys home.

Having a nose around I came across this:

It looks like its just slightly leaking. I'm guessing thats my problem right there? If it is, I suppose I could look around to see if there is a board-level repair shop rather than forking out for a new Mobo?

Just thought it would be good to get some opinions Having read around it seems the Asus A8N boards had *alot* of cap issues!

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forums! From the looks of it, it's a United Chemi Con, probably a KZG series. A few more pictures would help. If the cap is what I suspect, it needs to be replaced, and a good job would be to replace all of them on the board. Also please note that ASUS uses reverse markings on their boards for polarity of caps. Good luck!

ASUS Zephyrus GA401I Severe Lag, Suspect Motherboard/Power Issue - Need Help Diagnosing
      by MakNCheese
      Hi everyone,

I'm having a serious issue with my ASUS Zephyrus GA401I (4 years old, worked perfectly until recently). The system is lagging heavily, even in the BIOS, and is charging extremely slowly (a few percent in hours), making it nearly unusable. I suspect a motherboard or power delivery issue.

      Symptoms:
      • Severe lag across the system, including BIOS navigation.
      • Slow boot times and unresponsive performance in Windows.
      • Battery charges very slowly (e.g., ~5% in 2–3 hours).
      • No error messages or BSODs, just extreme sluggishness.

      What I've Tried:
      • Replaced

MSI GTX 970 4G V316 1.1 Loads of lines across screen suspect memory??
      by cheeky2
Recently purchased this MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G graphics card and card shows plenty of lines when booting up to bios and into Windows.
What are your thoughts memory issue as I don't have that much experience repairing graphics cards?
I have checked before plugging in card for shorts on the 12V power rails, PEX etc otherwise I wouldn't have plugged the card into the motherboard.
The screen shuts down if I load the drivers on the card.
      See attached pictures.
Any thoughts with what is likely to be the issue? I suspect a faulty Samsung memory chip and if so would...

I suspect the PCH, and I don't know how to check it.
      by Arkangelus
I am inspecting an HP device, model 0PAD DA0PADMB8G0 REV: G, with processor i5-1035G1 and I suspect the issue with the PCH because, when connecting the original charger, there is no LED indicating detection, but the PCH gets slightly warm to the touch.

Measuring the coils near the processor, there is no short circuit. In voltage drop measurement, I get a reading of 0.107, and in ohms I get a reading of 134.2. On the 5V coils, I get OL, and the voltage drop measurement gives me 0.384. On the 3V coil, I also get OL, and the voltage drop measurement gives me 0.323.

      This...

HP Pavilion X360 14-dh1084tu Suspect faulty SIO
      by AJ847.63e
      Hi all,

      I've got a mainboard FAROE DIS X32 MB MV 18742-1 0GG03.0011.

Original state was I was getting 3v on the power button. Went through the schematic power sequence and we seem to be getting stuck at point -4. The outputs from the SIO 5V_S5_EN and S5_EN are missing, and the inputs for PU4551 seem wrong. 1.36V and 9.6V for En1 and EN2 respectively. At first I was getting 3.34V on EN1 but it's seemed to have dropped. PWR_5V_FB is 0.6V.

Checked all around the board can't see any shorts, except around the dimm slots and CPU so I'm assuming that's normal. 180...

      LG 60PK550 clicking suspect 3BR1565JF
      by robm1
      Hi All,

Recently joined this forum after stumbling upon it checking some repairs I had attempted with an LG 60PK550 plasma TV. I grabbed the TV off a local site, and previous owner reported it clicking on and off, then not working. I assumed some sort of power supply issue, got it home and it fired up briefly (say 10 secs) then kept clicking one of the relays. I removed the power supply board – it's a EAX61432501/8 - Rev1.2 - EAY60968901.

I closely inspected above and below board components – couldn't see any swollen or leaking caps, however at IC301 which is...
