    MS-6330 Ver2.1

    hi everyone

ive got a MS-6330 Ver 2.1 that is missing 3 capacitors next to the power plug up the top marked C404 , C405 , C406.

would i be safe to put 3 x 1500UF 10v ones in or would i be best off putting 1600uf 12v?

the motherboard came from a gateway machine

here is a pic of ver3
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=755

    is it similar?
show which caps are missing and what values are already on the board.
did someone remove the caps? or are they missing from new?
    you can use 10v

there is probably no cap available with value 1600 12v.

looking @ all caps you'll find7 1000uf 6.3v if your board has all the original caps the 3 up by the atx connector will be 1500uf 10vand you'll also have 4 470uf 16vthen the board has 5 kze 4700uf 6.3v btw all previos caps are chhsi good thing is the board does have another usb header you can add.

Topcat's Ultimate Pentium 4 Retro Gamer!

I'll open this build with the comment that the Pentium 4 processor was probably my least-favorite CPU; even in Xeons. Netburst processors were hot-running and quite unimpressive performers considering the high clock speeds....but they were capable to a certain extent.....and are now entering the peculiar era of 'retro-ness'.

With that said; I was given THIS LITTLE JEWEL last Friday....a gaming rig built on the very CPU I liked the least....but there were some interesting things in it to say the least....and I really don't have a really good P4 retro gamer in my fleet....so....hmmm...yea...lets...

Please help me fix my beloved Panasonic TC-P65ST30
          by Ren01
My beloved TC-P65ST30 suddenly stopped turning on last week, no LED lights on at all, and it deserves a lot better than being tossed out. After some youtube troubleshooting steps, I was able to find a blown ceramic capacitor, C404 on the main power supply board, picture attached. All 5 fuses on the PSU seem to have continuity.

I’m not sure what the actual rating was since the label side is blown off, but there are other capacitors of similar size on the board rated at 470pf and 1KV. Would it be a safe bet to replace the cap with one rated with this?

          Capacitors in series?
          by diana
Anyone ever seen capacitors on a PC motherboard in series? I have two 820uf 6.3V caps that each read ~1600uf each in circuit. Across the two, I get ~1600uf pos of 1 to neg of 2, and 1776uf neg of 1 to pos 2.

Trying to figure if they are way out of whack on capacitance or mounted in series.

Dell Dimension 4700C - V-Core Rubycon MCZ's were ALL bad
          by bw1
Got a Dimension 4700C in the other day (newer-ish slim tower) with all (8) Rubycon MCZ V-core (out) caps bulging (1600uf 6.3v) and leaking a LOT.

Curious as to what you'd recommend replacing them with? She said the computer ran fine up until the other day when it wouldn't turn on. LED on front lit amber instead of normal red.

According to my records we put a new power supply in here 2 years ago. Didn't see anything at that time, but wasn't necessarily looking as closely for this back then. Thought I should mention it at least.
