I gather they are, and tested them as P-channel FETs. They are both reading .500 (diode mode) 6/7 pins + to 2/3 pins - in circuit....

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 226BW
I changed the F301 fuse and powered it up. Same issue. No backlights. I rechecked the fuse and it's blown again. Any ideas?

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 226BW
I had tested F101. I hadn't even seen F301. But that looks like it is blown. I will start by replacing that F301 fuse. Good call, Smason. Thanks....

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 226BW
Rtech,
Thanks for the clarification, but will you give me specifics on testing that, please? I do not see a pin labeled ground. Please be detailed in DMM setting, which pins to test across, whether the unit is powered on or unplugged, etc.

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 226BW
I checked IC703, but I am not sure how to test IC702 and IC705 because there are 5 pins and not 3.
IC703 readings were
1/2 .378
1/3 .686
2/3 .686
I found a BL-EN on the inverter board. Is that it? And how do I test it?...

Samsung Syncmaster 226BW
I've got a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW that I replaced the caps on but the screen is dark. I'm not a newbie to soldering or cap replacement, but this is a bit more than I have dealt with as far as troubleshooting goes and I am trying to expand my skills.
It looks like the previous owner might have tried a recap on it, but I went ahead and replaced them with Panasonic FCs and an FM for the 330uf 25V in C112. It powers up but is dark, not a 2 seconds to black, just dark from the get go. Power indicator is on and the image is visible with a flashlight. The fuse is good, I've checked that....

Capacitors in series?
Anyone ever seen capacitors on a PC motherboard in series? I have two 820uf 6.3V caps that each read ~1600uf each in circuit. Across the two, I get ~1600uf pos of 1 to neg of 2, and 1776uf neg of 1 to pos 2.
Trying to figure if they are way out of whack on capacitance or mounted in series.

2 blown 3300uF 10v Lelon caps...
the rest in the notoriously bad sizes are 2200uF 6.3v Rubycons that look great.

11 out of 11 7VTXH boards...
I have had 11 of 11 GA-7VTHX have failed caps and need to be fixed. The worst condition caps seem to be the four 3300uF 6.3V caps near the processors, but I have seen the 1200uF 6.3V caps in the same area bad, as well.
